About this property

Luxury Yurt with Hot-Tub, Peak District, Derbyshire

Gaia’s Hideaway is an authentic Mongolian yurt with 1700-L wood-fired hot tub. It is approached from a path at the South-East corner of Upper Hurst Farm Caravan and Camping site, leading down to a secluded corner surrounded by trees, natural hedgerows, and open views to the Peak District hills.

It is a truly magical hideaway. When you open the door in the morning you will be greeted by the sunrise and prolific birdsong. Peace and tranquillity are guaranteed. The South-East aspect means that you will have shade in some places and sunshine all day long on the decking area, so sun-bathing is on the menu.

The yurt is lavishly furnished with an enormous circular bed with a custom-made headboard and plush throws and cushions. Goose-feather & down pillows and duvet, Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels, fluffy dressing gowns and a food hamper on arrival means you can get cosy and tuck in.

The yurt has a custom-built mini-kitchen with refrigerator, washing up and cooking facilities as well as dining and lounge areas that are arranged around a central log burner. Logs are provided free of charge. On the generous decking area there is a Cadac barbecue and patio set for alfresco dining.

For the ultimate experience there is 1700 litre, red-cedar, wood-fired hot-tub for you to enjoy a truly luxurious and peaceful stay amidst the trees, natural hedges and wildlife. Logs are provided free of charge. The hot-tub is heated for your arrival.

To add to the outdoors adventure, there is an adjacent, private compost toilet. Luxurious, underfloor-heated showers are about 150 yards away - back up your little path to the main caravan site.

Escape to this relaxing hideaway and experience the Peak District at its finest. The yurt is a completely private space and is not shared.

Other things to note: Please bring a large cover for the bed if you are bringing a dog - egyptian cotton doesn't like muddy paws!

Towels, dressing gowns, kitchen utensils and crockery are provided. We recommend bringing slippers and flip flops.

Amazing weekend
The Yurt was beautiful we had an amazing long weekend. Fantastic surprise to find sausages, bacon butter, milk and orange juice in the fridge and some bread to go with it such a lovely extra to have. The hot tub was so relaxing especially with a view across the fields and so easy to heat with instructions via video which were Clear and easy to follow. The yurt and facilities were spotlessly clean would definitely recommend and would love to come back and stay again soon.

About the host

Upper Hurst Farm was founded in 2012 with the vision of providing a luxurious, relaxing space to enable guests to enjoy the surrounding natural beauty. The caravan site was the first to arrive, shortly followed by our holiday cottage (Gaia Lodge) and our yurt (Gaia's Hideaway). What has been created here has been designed to mirror the indescribably beautiful landscape that we have at Upper Hurst Farm. This has made an environment in which people naturally feel calm and nurtured.

Set in Staffordshire's Manifold Valley yet walking distance to the Derbyshire Dales, Upper Hurst Farm is nestled on the border of these two fabulous counties. Cycle trails, hiking, open water swimming, picturesque villages and stately homes are within reach of the site. Farm shops, ice cream parlours, cafes and cosy pubs galore, Upper Hurst Farm is the perfect place for exploring what the Peak District has to offer. You can find information by looking us up, and you can even speak with us directly.

We are very rural so peace and tranquillity is assured, whilst being central to the four major towns: Buxton, Bakewell, Ashbourne, Leek. There's lots to do so you won't be bored!

Why they chose this property

Gaia's Hideaway was created with the vision of a sumptuous, intimate getaway in nature. It's truly about bringing the outdoors in - in all weathers. The space is sunken below the site itself and is completely private. With prolific birdsong, hedgehogs, owls and more, you are bound to find an apprecitation for nature here. The addition of the all-weather hot tub bring this home, especially on a clear night under the moon and stars.

It is the perfect romantic getaway and the outcome of the property was far more gorgeous that originally planned. Our reviews speak for themselves.
