Beautiful Cosy Cottage
We had a lovely time in this beautiful and cosy cottage close to Laurencekirk. Our boys loved the space the cottage offered, both inside and out. Rachel had thought of everything we needed, including a huge games room for the kids, a bookcase full of novels for us grown ups and plenty of equipment to entertain us in the garden.

Beautiful house
We have had an amazing week, the house is absolutely gorgeous, really spacious for our group of 2 adults and 3 children. The kids loved the little game room and the mezzanine floor (filled with games!), as well as the basketball hoop and water pistols! The ice dispenser was another hit! We all enjoyed the huge variety of books on the bookshelves too. The house was comfy and luxurious, and we had such a great time. Rachel replied instantly to any questions we had, which was fantastic. I would highly recommend Coullie Stays to anyone 👌❤️🌟

Lovely Cottage!
We had a great New Year staying here! The cottage is so lovely. It’s beautifully decorated and was spotlessly clean, with a very well equipped kitchen. We had issues with water supply on the second day, but Scottish Water provided loads of bottles for us and the situation was dealt with appropriately by the owners.

We had a wonderful stay.
The first thing was a wonderful welcome from Rachel. She even had bread, milk and butter for us ready to eat and drink. Thank you very much. The house had everything what we could wish for. The only thing we had to figure out was how to use the cooker/hob/oven. But finally made it work somehow.

A lovely place - perfectly situated for a variety of adventures.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely property. Rachel was super helpful and responsive, the house was immaculate and really well kitted out and the location was perfect for accessing the coast, inland to Cairngorms and down to St Andrews. There are many charming spots to sit and enjoy the lovely views across the fields. A great stay for our group.

I'm an artist who loves gardening and long walks with my Border Collie.

Why they chose this property

We loved Mid Coullie as soon as we found it! Surrounded by emerald and golden fields as far as the eye can see and with mist shrouded woodlands that hug the top of the hill, it's the perfect place to paint (see some of my work in the cottage)!
A beautiful expanse of beach lies on the other side of the valley at St. Cyrus. Stonehaven is close at hand for outdoor swimming, paddle boarding, award winning pubs, restaurants and cafes. With Aberdeen and many a castle and gardens less than an hour away there is plenty to stimulate the senses and imagination. With cosy interiors, a warming aga, an acre of garden with beautiful views, birdsong, barbecue, fire pit and plenty to keep the kids entertained, its a great place to enjoy a bit of seclusion.

What makes this property unique

When the weather is warm enough the garden is wonderful for everyone. Have a bonfire, light up the fire pit for a barbecue, lie in the dappled shade of the big sycamore and enjoy the birdsong and the swallows playing all around. The kids can enjoy the rope swing, water fights, basketball, football and toasting marshmallows. There are plenty of balls, blankets, water pistols and games to enjoy in the garden. The woodlands provide long walks and streams for the kids and the dogs. If you're keen on mountain biking there are woodland tracks galore - they go as far as Stonehaven!
When the weather is cold the cottage is the perfect place to hunker down, enjoy the warmth of the Aga and the underfloor heating, play board games, enjoy a drink in a crystal glass, read some Scottish verse and play a few records or the piano. There are plenty of areas for everyone to hang out so that you can come together or enjoy your own space.
The cottage has a bean to cup coffee machine, ice machine and all the kitchen equipment you'll need to cook up a feast (please let us know if you'd like an high speed blender or juicer for your stay). There are cocktail and recipes books for inspiration. Beautiful veggies and local goodies can be bought from several local farm shops. The Spud Hut is literally across the field from the cottage and is full of the farmer's goodies (use payPal, take a bag). His potatoes taste amazing : )
The cottage displays the owners sketches and paintings, some of the local area. The cottage is also full of little artworks from other artists, which reflect the surrounding environment and wildlife and some that do not!
