Lovely cottage in the perfect location for a relaxing break away
Easter Caiplich is a lovely cottage on the beautiful estate of Dalnaglar. So many stunning walks right on your doorstep and of course fantastic hot tub with amazing views. Having the Highland Coos come up right up to the garden fence with their cute wee calves was just amazing! The cottage was very clean and homely. Garden was perfect for us and the dog who loved playing fetch in the big garden! Make sure to take all your essentials for your time at the cottage as the nearest shop is approx 30 mins away. The perfect place for a peaceful and relaxing break away to recharge the batteries, Only thing is remember to take midge spray for when you’re in the garden/hot tub in the evening! We would definitely go back for another stay!

Beautiful cottage
Really lovely cottage in a stunningly beautiful area, the cottage was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, the garden was large and secure for our dogs, the walks on the estate are fantastic. The only downside to our holiday was we we’re one of the many areas that lost power in the storm and had no power or heat for the last two days of our holiday but the estate manager checked on us several times and even filled our flask with hot water so we could have a hot drink, luckily we had two very good torches and spare batteries with us so had a little light in the cottage, the emergency power cut pack in the cottage consisted 5 tea lights a tiny torch and matches, would suggest this is improved. Overall we loved our holiday even the storm didn’t spoil it for us, the snow was amazing and we would highly recommend Easter Caiplich.

An Idyllic Stay in the Glens
Breathtaking scenery, especially in Autumn (colours are amazing). Lots to explore, loved the walks. Accommodation was clean and very comfortable. Loved lying in the hot-tub on a dark evening, after a long day's walking. Staff are friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

Excellent stay
I stayed for a week and I wish it was longer. The cottage and grounds was amazing, beautiful scenery, lovely walks and peace and quiet. Also had Fluffy Coos as neighbours which was great, they were so fascinating to watch. Was a little cold, but expected that for October, but it was made better thanks to the hot tub. I did not want to come home.

Our First Trip to Scotland
Wow! What a wonderful cottage and location! Set in a stunning castle estate. The cottage was clean and had all the things needed for a weeks stay. Blairgowrie is a easy drive to food groceries and quite a few places to visit, such as Pitlochry and Balmoral. Thank you to Helen and Rob and the team at Dalnglar Castle Estate. Definitely booking for next year.

Amazing Trip!
We booked this long weekend due to our son being on a Residential in Dalnaglar Castle. We found these beautiful homes on the estate that looked perfect! It was just beautiful, the scenery, the home and the hot tub! Extremely therapeutic and just what us and the kids needed after a very busy and heavy few months! The place was very well equipped and exceeded our expectations and we will for sure be back!!

A beautiful place to stay
The cottage, castle and grounds are a lovely retreat for a quiet holiday barre also ideally located if you’re wanting something a bit more adventurous. We had everything we needed, like a home away from home - with the added bonus of the hot tub with an amazing view of the surrounding hills. We loved that we could see the local wildlife including the resident ducks, highland cows and deer. There’s plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas such as Pitlochry, Glenshee and Balmoral. It was ideally located for us wanting to travel further afield into the highlands too. Thanks for a great holiday and great memories!

Comfortable stay
Let me start with the negatives. When we arrived and I went to put dinner on for my son, we were greeted by a crisp, overdone fly in the oven tray within the oven, so we didn't get off to a great start there! We were also a little disappointed that there was not even a small amount of milk in the fridge for us to have a cuppa when we arrived. Maybe that could be something that is done for guests going forward. We did appreciate the coffee, teabags and sugar though. There was also no slippers which it was advertised there would be, but that wasn't a big deal. A wee welcome pack would have been nice, it's something we have had at all other cottages we have stayed at, but again, that's just a suggestion, nothing more. The living room/kitchen area is actually a little cramped for 2 adults a teenager and 2 medium sized dogs, so if you are a bigger party then be prepared that there is not tons of room. If you have a dog that doesn't appreciate wildlife, then beware that there WILL be wildlife at the bottom of the garden at times. In our case it was wonderful heilan' coos! Also, most of the fence in the enclosed garden is only 3ft high, so if you have a dog that is prone to jumping fences, then beware of that! There was no vacuum cleaner unless it was so well hidden we just couldn't find it! The wifi is patchy at best, but that's to be expected in the middle of the countryside, but I just want to give a full, honest review. The positives - Beds were VERY comfortable. The cottage was clean and well kept. The hot tub was lovely, and Rob arrived every morning to do whatever it is that needs to be done to the hot tub every morning. The walks around the estate are phenomenal, we enjoyed them as much as the dogs did. Again there is wildlife, so please have control of your dogs at all times. Bear in mind that you are in the middle of nowhere and that you will need to drive to get to a shop. We knew this before we arrived, it's not a complaint, I just want to make sure people know this. We used the shops in Blairgowrie, which is around 20 miles away, but there are small shops in Bridge of Cally and Glenshee which are a little closer. All in all it was a pleasant holiday. I'm not sure we'd go back, but that's not a reflection on Easter Caiplich or Dalnaglar Estate, it's just that for us, it wasn't the best place we have ever been for our needs (our son is autistic) Would I recommend it? Well, if someone asked me should they go, I would mention all of the above and on balance I would say yes, you should go if you want a nice, quiet and relaxing holiday. Or if you are happy to drive quite a few miles to get to attractions. We did enjoy our break, and at the end of the day, that is the important thing, so thank you Dalnaglar Estate!

Beautiful location and surroundings
Absolutely beautiful area, had such a lovely time. The location of the cottages was fantastic and quiet which was what we were looking for. The cottage was so spacious and comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and more. Lovely enclosed garden which was excellent for the dog and we even had the pleasure of the highland cows sitting outside the garden fence. Would highly recommend Easter Caiplich to everyone looking for some relaxation, oh and the hot tub was such a treat. Only advice would be to remember and take insect repellent as expected it is in the country.
