We had a wonderful time, beautiful location and beautiful island. The hosts were great and very responsive. They reserved a golf cart for us which is a must and they set up a boat tour for us to visit pig breach, swim with nurse sharks and explore other parts of the Exumas, it was an amazing trip! Can’t wait to go back and stay longer.
Ulrisa and Raymond live close by and are very accommodating. She immediately moved us to the bigger 2 bedroom rental which was very clean and had everything we needed. Beautiful view and my favorite part, Raymond took us on a boat tour and we swam with/fed the pigs, and fed the nurse sharks (I pet them too). Locals are very kind. I highly recommend
We had a great time at this property. It's clean and has everything one needs. Beautiful views, clean and in the friendliest cay in the Bahamas!
We had issues with the kitchen stove but the property owner and friends helped us resolve. The wifi didn't work (and the smart tv as a result) but internet was down in the entire cay with the same provider so nothing specific to this property.
Breadboy arranged for Juice and KK to come and pick us up from Staniel Cay Yacht club. It was a smooth boat ride and cost us $100 one way for two people.
If you want a quiet and remote getaway with boating proximity to tons of adventure this is the place. Excellent family or couples' location. Risa arranged for everything we needed and requested. The inside of the house is very nice with high ceilings and cold air conditioning. Breadboy was fantastic and helped with anything we asked. This island is home to kind and friendly people. We cannot wait to return and rent from Risa again.
A few suggestions: You may want to discuss groceries with Risa ahead of time. If not, the island has a couple of grocery stores. The house kitchen was fully equipped for us to cook. You will need a golf cart unless you want to walk everywhere. Although Blackpoint is full of beauty and quietness you are cheating yourself if you do not rent a boat and explore. Risa can take care of this. I recommend Capt Magic as your captain. The boat is mandatory for me on all future visits. In summary, Breadboy, Risa, and every person we spoke to on the island were kind, full of smiles, and an eagerness to help. I have nothing negative to report about anything. My family and I cannot wait to see Bread, Risa, and the other residents of Blackpoint asap. We highly recommend renting from Risa!
The cottage was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I stayed at one of Ulrisa and breadboys home. We flew in via makers air into Staniel cay. The airport at Staniel will have golf carts that will take you to Staniel cay yacht club. A few days before your trip message Ulrisa or breadboy here, advising you need to arrange pick up. They will pick you up at the restaurant at Staniel cay. There is a fee picking you up from Staniel Cay and driving you over via boat to Blackpoint as well as the return boat ride when you depart. It’s about a 20 minute boat ride but it’s an absolute view of the blue waters and the island.
Once you get to black point they also rent golf carts for the island. There are a few restaurants on the islands I think 3-4 total. There are three small grocery stores.. bring cash for this. If you have the opportunity to pack items in your suitcase do so because the vat tax is 10% and items are more expensive since you you’re on an island. There is a blow hole on the island, beach acres that has a cool rocky structure and a castle like home.
The adventures are on the water. I highly recommend renting a boat from breadboy. If you want to be driven around we had a lovely captain named Magic who will show you the beautiful Exumas if you don’t want to rent a boat on your own. However, If you rent a boat for the duration of your stay having someone to show you around the island is also a requirement for your safety for the first day of your boat rental and there’s a fee. Some of things I recommend to see while your here are:
Compass cay
Seaquarium (land and sea park)
Swings (pipe key)
Thunderball grotto
Pablo escobars plane crash
Pig beach
Iguana beach
Rocky Dundas Cave
Dino with the sea turtles
Breadboy was an absolute honor and everyone on the island was a pleasure. We will be back as soon as we can. It’s by far one of our favorites places in the Bahamas thus far.
Highly recommend you stay here!
My husband and I celebrated our 20th Anniversary here and had an amazing time! The cottage was clean and very comfortable and had a spectacular view of the ocean. Black Point is exactly what we were looking for, a small intimate island with beautiful people. Ulrissa and Bread Boy took care of our every need and were always responsive. We rented a boat from them twice as well as a golf cart to get around the island. Thank you to Colby & Ashton for being our captains of the boat and giving us an experience of a lifetime! We went to Staniel Cay Yacht Club, swam with the pigs, iguana island, sand bars and much more! There are also kayaks, paddle boards, floats you can use. The beach at the cottage was just gorgeous and I especially loved the low tide where you can walk out about 200 yards. There are a about 4 restaurants on the island and food was fantastic. My husband and I look forward to returning again soon and will stay at this cottage again! Thank you for a great bucket list vacation!

Little town, big memories!
We arrived to Black Point by Flamingo Air. We were greeted by a friend of Ulrissa and Raymond (Bread boy) who took us to our house by golf cart. After our first night they upgraded us to the blue house with the wrap around porch. The views were incredible. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all your basic cooking needs if you choose to go that route. We rented a boat and golf cart from bread boy and had his twin brother take us out on the boat the first day to show us around. He took us to Staniel Cay, swimming pigs, Rachel’s bubble bath, the sand bar and many snorkeling spots. After the first day we were able to go out on our own the remaining days. We chose to eat out each meal. We ate most of our meals at emerald sunset point but did take the boat to Staniel Cay yacht club and had breakfast one day as well as lunch and dinner. We will always remember this trip! Everyone is so nice and accommodating. Make sure to bring plenty of sunscreen and bug spray! We also brought some snacks for the boat. No need to pack dressy clothes or heels. I never even used my blow dryer. Super casual, laid back atmosphere. If your looking for resort style vacation this isn’t for you, however if your looking for laid back, explore on your own, comfortable vacation this is it. You won’t come across nicer people or prettier beaches! Also, we got some coconut bread from Lorraine’s that was delicious!

Beautiful vacation
Our stay at Ulrisa and Bread Boy's villa was amazing. We stayed in the one bedroom yellow villa for 4 nights, which has a beautiful porch looking over the bay with a couple of chairs. It's spacious for 2 people, and had all the requirements for basic cooking. We stayed in the purple villa for our last 3 nights. This is an absolutely beautiful villa, directly on the water with a perfect outdoor eating area and another area with lounging furniture. Inside, the villa is large and comfortable and has everything you need. Swimming in the bay was beautiful. The water is perfectly clear and refreshing, and there is a small beach area with chairs set up. We used a golf cart to access a beach further down the island, and had the beach to ourselves the entire day. We also took a boat tour and highly recommend it! We had an unforgettable day seeing iguanas, visiting a sandbar, swimming with the pigs, snorkeling, etc. The walk from the villa into the village is not far, probably about 20 minutes. I recommend bringing food with you or making arrangements for food, because the stores on the island are quite small and only carry the basics. The hospitality and scenery here were unforgettable, and I absolutely recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautiful, quiet getaway.

Fantastic Vacation
We thoroughly enjoyed our time staying at Bread Boy and Ulrisa's cottage. The view of the bay was spectacular every morning, shades of blue and green you can't put into words unless you see it. Black Point is a unique and easy going settlement for those that are looking to disconnect from the outside world. I highly recommend staying at their cottages, they are new construction, clean and have a 360 view of the ocean and bay.

Just as beautiful as the pictures!
We had an amazing time at this cottage! It is beautiful and very spacious on the inside. The view cannot be beat! You have the ocean in the front and the amazing cove on the back porch. A set of stairs take you down to the sandbar or beach depending on the time of day. The cottage has all the amenities you need if you choose to cook at home or go out to dinner or lunch. I would bring as many provisions as you can and then buy basic things at the grocery store at black point. Ulrisa and Breadboy are gracious hosts and are always available should you have a question or need anything. The boats and captains will take you all over and show you all that the Exuma's has to offer. My husband and I have been to Hawaii and other Bahamian and Caribbean islands but this by FAR is the BEST. I have never seen so many shades of blue on the water. We will absolutely be back. and soon.
