About this property

Lake View House, Panoramic sunsets near Stourhead

A totally unique and rare find of a house with an open-plan kitchen/ living area where you get your own private sunset. Breathtaking views, ideal for family + friends/nature lovers/city breaks. (Sorry no parties/ or pets). Superfast broadband. Watch the sun go down with a cocktail in hand, accompanied by breathtaking views of countryside fields to King Alfred's Tower and far beyond.

The house is spacious, bright and wonderfully peaceful. There is underfloor heating throughout, which can be controlled manually in every room by a panel on the wall - making the house amazing for both winter and summer! On hot days pop open the sliding glass doors onto the dining area and equipped with outdoor seating for 8 people (also ideal for star gazing at night). The garden is south/west facing so it can get hot and we are on a hill so be mindful it can get windy quite quickly. On rainy days it’s mesmeric to watch the weather transform/evolve across this special landscape. An elegant open plan living space/tv room, a huge modern kitchen and a 'play room/office' for ping pong/ games or sneaking away for some quiet time. In the entranceway, you’ll find plenty of space for boots and coats for post muddy walks.

All the bedrooms are individually styled and located at the back of the house for up to 8 guests in 2 Super-Kings, 1 Double and 1 twin bedroom. All have usb plugins for your phones. The bedrooms are not all ensuite so the guests in bedroom 3 and 4 will need to share. There are 4 bathrooms, 2 ensuite (3 with walk-in showers and 1 with a bath) and in the main corridor there is a toilet with a basin. There is exercise weights available in the games room if you decide to do a work out facing the view.

It’s a lovely house in a beautiful location
A beautiful, modern house with plenty of space, great amenities and a superb location. Very family friendly. It was a great base for a short break and we would come back. An information pack In the house on how to use appliances, refuse collection days and where to eat and shop locally would be very useful. Thank you.

If you want WOW Factor, Lake View has it...
Lake View has so much Wow factor - we stayed Thurs to Sun for our Mum's 60th Birthday weekend as a surprise, and in her words ''she wasn't expecting somewhere like this!'' The barn is deceivingly huge inside though it doesn't look so from the outside. I was a little worried it'd be hard to find though the satnav took us right to the driveway. The space is amazing and 10/10 for design and decor - it really is a beautiful holiday home and the panoramic view is truely stunning. We spent some lovely mornings sat in the sun eating breakfast overlooking the lake. The table tennis table was a brilliant addition as many tournaments were had! We had brought bandminton and rounders sets with the intention of playing in the large grassy field pictured on the listing, though on arrival discovered this was not part of the barn sadly and the smaller grassy garden area was not big enough to play on, though there is plenty of boardgames, books etc at the accomodation to keep you entertained. The kitchen is well equipped and we were relieved to discover two large fridges, two ovens and a dishwasher - with 8 people in the party, we brought a lot of food and drink so all of these were well used! We would say that we did find ourselves washing quite alot of the crockery and cutlery before use, so perhaps something to check a little more thoroughly between stays. The bedrooms and bathrooms are again brilliant - the beds were comfy with quality duvets, showers amazing with lovely bodywash, shampoo etc, and ridiculous amounts of storage space for clothes. We don't envy the cleaners as the place is so huge, though would suggest the bathrooms needed a slightly deeper clean if I'm being picky! The barn naturally lets a lot of sunlight in and we stayed on a hot weekend in July so did struggle to sleep at times due to being too hot at night - perhaps a fan or two and some lighter tog duvets might be a great addition for future Summer guests. The guest book is absolutely brilliant with tonnes of info on local eateries, places to visit etc. Wiktor and March's communication has been fantastic from the day I booked - even going as far as to put up birthday decorations for our arrival which I hugely appreciated. Overall our stay really was made super special and we would highly reccomend for a holiday home you won't want to leave - this felt very luxury and made for a trip our mum will never forget. Thank you both - you've been great and we'd 100% book again!

Exceeded expectations! Even better than expected.
Even though the pics of this property are great they still do not do it justice. The view from the patio is incredible, sunset was stunning. The property was perfect for us. We stayed as a family with Granny, all the shower rooms are lovely and lovely powerful showers. The property is lovely and modern with everything you need provided. Even an extra drinks fridge in the utility for those evening drinks with a view on the comfy garden sofa and table. We even had breakfast one morning outside. We visited Longleat and Stourhead, both on your doorstep. Thank you.
