Contaminated water, reported to health and safety

We tolerated most of the inadequacies (front door being jammed, broken toilet seat and shower head, ant nest in kitchen, electricity turning off every few hours, air conditioning not cooling - rooms were hot) HOWEVER— the last straw for us was when on the second day we discovered that our water tanks were not covered and being contaminated with bird feces and gunk. Overall like 2 out of 10. I contacted VRBO for refun and reported to Health and Safety.

Checking in is a struggle! Home has potential needs some TLC

I had not read reviews until we were driving ( my bad) I started to panic because the previous reviews mentioned not being able to reach manager and Two families were not able to stay there and they had paid 😟 I received an email the night before stating that I would get the door code in the morning. I emailed the manager three times in English and Spanish and pleaded with her to please “do the right thing” and told her my grandsons were so excited to be at the beach! Finally, before crossing the border I was able to get her phone number . I called we talked for a brief moment I just wanted the address and the section number. I was finally able to get the section number - section 10. It was so damn difficult finding section 10. We drove all the way to the very end . We asked many people too. Turns out it was right as you entered by the school. I kept calling manager to get a picture of the home. That took about 15 minutes and in the meantime, I tried several gates lol, went to front door and tried the door code. (She had finally sent a door code as we were driving in) This manager when I spoke to her, was kind, but seemed a bit overwhelmed and was trying to do the best she could! The home was nice, but not very clean. I had to wash the windowsill in the kitchen. It was dirty. A broom and dust pan was by front door and floor was not swept well. We have stayed in many homes in R.P. And have traveled there for over 25 years and know to bring extra fans during the summer. So glad we did. Wall units work ok, but not enough to circulate air. The following morning we noticed a pkg of tortillas had nibbles through bag! Yuck! Mice problem! We noticed droppings in cupboards. Following morning some peaches had nibbles! :( We washed every pan and utensils we used! There were cockroaches also. We always travel with sprays and baits! The exterior could use a coat of paint along with the patio floor which had chipped paint. There is no outdoor shower or hose. They just had a small faucet in the corner with no drainage other than a small hole in floor lol Our family made the most of this situation because we were very happy and felt blessed to be right in front of the beautiful beach! We had a wonderful time! This home has so much potential and I hate to bash anyone, but for future booking- show pictures of home, send door codes along with address and a map!!!!

Do not Book! She canceled 2 hours before we arrived, leaving us stranded

BE WARE: NO NOT BOOK. The entire time, we tried to get a hold of the host to get the address, she didn’t not answer until we offered to pay more for early check. Then host canceled our reservations 2 hours before we arrived, and tried to book us another house with her outside the site. Worse experience ever. We were left stranded. Awful host, we had kids and a large family group.

Worst experience ever

Do not- I repeat do not book this property. Worst experience ever The morning of our reservation after many attempts of trying to get the address I received a call stating the property was unavailable for the weekend. I was beyond irritated to be told the morning of. Just a few hours prior to leaving. Very unprofessional. However I offered another location (smaller place) Agreed to it after being after being told the owner would have the house ready the following day Total bs again. I didn’t hear from them all weekend. I texted atleast 10 times asking for updates and asked just to be honest so we could atleast knw what to expect for the remainder of our trip. Again, no responses. I would hate for anyone to go through what we did.

Great place to sit on the beach and relax!

Checking in was stressful, but once we got there the house was clean and the security guard Manuel was so nice. The house is not perfect, but the beach is so nice I could overlook all of it. You can see the ocean from the bed in 3 of the bedrooms which was such an amazing view! The beach behind the house was gorgeous! It has a long stretch of sand and it was perfect for playing games, listening to music and relaxing out there. Sand castles and getting your feet in the water. It has the most amazing shells we have ever found. The beach there has big patches of like lava rocks under the water so you can’t kayak or really swim, but it’s gorgeous, quiet and relaxing. You can wade in the water just not swim. Further down the beach it seems there are less rocks and you could swim. The fridge was hit or miss and we had to keep changing the temperature to keep it working and there are no shelves in the freezer which was weird, but we made it work. The bed aren’t the most comfortable, but the bedding was nice and soft. There is a 24/7 security guard at the house and the parking is gated. if you are going for a place to sit and listen to the ocean, see the beautiful beach and play in the sand this is a great place! The a/c units in each room worked well. The house definitely could use some work, but overall I was so happy to sit and enjoy the ocean with my family and we had a great weekend!!! (less a food poisoning incident, but that was unrelated to the house haha)

Spring break 2022

I would like to summarize the good and the bad with this rental. We booked it for spring break for my family of 9 and our dog. I had trouble getting a hold of the property manager a few days before our trip. I send texts and voicemail and waited for two days before I called Vrbo. I then received responses to my questions. I was told I would receive the door code and address to the house 24 hours before our stay, but I again had to reach out to ask for that information, and it took several hours. The address that I was given was for the wrong location, and after making several attempts to locate the home, more calls and texts, we were given the correct location of the condo. The manager was pleasant over texts and offered to send someone over but we finally found it after going up to the door and trying the lock. The home was as shown in pictures. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, and the home had four bedrooms and three bathrooms, which was more than adequate for my family. There were A/c units in each bedroom and one in the living room, however due to the time of year we went, we would’ve rather had heaters. There is no central heating. We were provided six space heaters, but due to only one plug in each room, we couldn’t seem to get the living room warm enough to be comfortable. The water pressure was terrible and there was no hot water when we arrived. After a day, I finally called the property manager asking about the hot water. The next morning, someone was sent over to fix the boiler. We had hot water for our last day, but still not great pressure. The house is indeed beach front, which was nice and convenient on the private beach in Las Conchas, with a security guard stationed outside our back door. The beach is mostly rocks, so it was great for beach coming, but horrible for swimming, kayaking and tubing. All the kids enjoyed their beds and felt like they got good sleep, however, the master king size bed was as hard as a board and the the base wobbled on the floor when you shifted in bed. I will definitely need some chiropractic work after three nights on that bed. On checkout day, the cleaning lady came 15 minutes early and we felt rushed to leave, which was a bit of a negative on our trip. While this is certainly not an upscale rental, and the property manager was somewhat slow to respond to everything, we still managed to have a great time. I would give 3 out of 5 stars.
