Holly Cottage is a fabulous holiday home that has been recently renovated and extended to provide a truly excellent base for the family on the Black Isle. The original part of the cottage is an old Crofter’s cottage from the 19th century and has been lovingly restored. It has been added to with an amazing modern extension out the back making the most of views to the north. You can enter the property through the old front door which has ramp access into the cottage, and you can also enter through the side entrance into the modern part of the cottage. If using the latter, you are drawn to your left once you enter the property to the kitchen/dining room with great views to the Cromarty Firth and Ben Wyvis on a clear day. The kitchen/dining room is a great space and the whole family will enjoy spending a lot of time in during a stay. Doors lead out to the decking area. There’s a ground floor shower room in the modern extension as well. Beyond this and from the hallway you enter into the old part of the cottage. The living room is cosy and set-up for getting stuck into movies or a box set. Through the living room you reach the front of the house and the front door, as well as the ground floor single bedroom. On the first floor of the cottage, all in the original 19th century building, there are two bedrooms, a twin and a double bedroom, as well as another shower room. All finished to a high standard. There’s grass beyond the decking at the back for kids to run around on. Round the front of the property there’s private parking and a nice patio area which is south facing and therefore a great sun trap. It’s a lovely cottage, not just for its set-up and finish, but for its location.
Culbokie is perfectly placed on the Black Isle to explore its many sights, like Fortrose Cathedral, Rosemarkie Beach and lighthouse, Cromarty’s fisher town, the list goes on. The Black Isle is an amazing place for a holiday. But also, Culbokie is close to the NC500 that crosses the Cromarty Firth Bridge not too far away, meaning you can be off exploring further afield with ease. The Isle of Skye, Applecross, John O’Groats, and many more places are all within a couple of hours meaning you have a long list of exciting day trips to choose from. We urge you to book Holly Cottage and set yourself up for a brilliant Black Isle holiday. Beach 11 miles. Pub and restaurant ½ mile.

Just wonderful!
Our first family holiday in Scotland and it really was fantastic. The cottage was beautiful and cosy and just perfect for us. It had everything we needed and the location was great, too. Quiet and with a nice view. The landlords were incredibly nice and helpful. We received a very warm welcome and all our questions and concerns were answered immediately. We had booked for one ween only, because we wanted to spend our second week in another region of Scotland. In fact, we would have liked to stay longer because we felt so comfortable. We were simply happy to have found this beautiful place and can absolutely recommend it.
