Firework Free Getaway

Great cosy cottage, just the right size for two. Very comfortable and compact, well equipped and a lovely secure garden for our dogs. Within easy reach of the beaches and woods and Weavers Way almost on the doorstep so plenty of choice for walks. Best of all no fireworks nearby to upset our older dog so we all had relaxed evenings throughout the week. Hosts Terri and Richard were most welcoming and the thoughtful welcome pack was much appreciated.

So relaxing.

A lovely relaxing week. Property had every thing needed for a stay away. Lovely garden for the hound. Great walks near by in the woods and local beaches. Hound glad to be home for a rest. Well met by the hosts who kindly presented us a balloon and bottle of champers to celebrate or birth adversary and a great welcome pack for humans and the hound. Tesco and chippy a short drive away. Highly recomend. - _

Fabulous holiday

We had a wonderful time at Badgers retreat. The hosts Terrie and Richard were lovely, friendly and and very welcoming . Thank you for the very generous welcome pack, a big thank you from Willow and Jinger for all the doggie treats. The cottage is very pretty and comfortable with a beautiful garden which our dogs and ourselves really enjoyed relaxing in. There are great dog walks right from the front door. The location is brilliant for days out, exploring the local area or relaxing in the garden. We had a fabulous stay and were sad to leave. Will look forward to going back.

A very relaxing week.

We’ve stayed at Badgers Retreat previously, so knew that we’d enjoy another week here. We don’t go far, walks on Weavers Way and trips to the local beaches followed by snoozing in the conservatory (not just the dogs!). Terri and Richard are great hosts, they keep the place clean and tidy and the garden is great for our dogs.

Short and Sweet Weekend Break

We had a wonderful short stay. The dogs absolutely loved it. I've never stayed anywhere where I felt like we were more welcomed and accepted from the dog treats to the cage to the throws and more. Despite the heavy rain all weekend, we had a number of adventures and enjoyed listening to the rain on the conservatory roof. Thank you!

A relaxing week

We’ve had a wonderful time at badgers retreat. Terri and Richard were very welcoming and were around if we needed them, which we didn’t because everything was there for us . the cottage was extremely comfortable; and as with all east Ruston cottages, the dogs were made very welcome. The garden was brilliant and the dogs and we enjoyed it immensely, with the lovely weather we’ve had. Having the Weavers Way literally a few minutes down the road has been superb as well, no need to drive anywhere to walk the dogs. Overall a great, relaxing week, with no need to rush anywhere or do anything, Terri and Richard thank you so much

Badgers Retreat Norfolk

Lovely quaint cottage with beautiful secure garden for our dog. Terri & Richard were very welcoming & friendly. The property had everything needed and the welcome food pack for hoomans & doggy treats was lovely. The area was very quiet but was further away from anything than expected for us, a good 30 minute walk to village & pub. Great for a very peaceful getaway

Terrie and Richard were so friendly and helpful and we were blown away by all the thought and design that went into the cottage. It was perfectly situated for our reactive dog, with lovely walks and near to beaches and has a beautiful garden where our dog could run around safely in. Peaceful week at Badgers Retreat

We always chose East Ruston Cottages when we are staying in Norfolk. Mainly, because they are the most dog friendly establishments you could wish for! Badgers Retreat was exactly that - perfect location with the Weavers Way just across the road, and many of the most beautiful beaches just a short drive away. The cottage itself was cosy and comfortable with probably the most magnificent fireplace we have seen! From the sitting room/kitchen to the conservatory there was everything that we needed, four comfy sofa's, plenty of throws and towels for the dogs, dog bowls and a lovely large garden with views across the fields. Thank you, Richard and Terri, for a lovely welcome pack and for being such great hosts. We would highly recommend Badgers Retreat.

Making the most of schools returning

Had a lovely last minute break, we waited until the schools returned expecting the weather to improve and couldn’t have picked a better week. The accommodation is exactly as advertised , lovely welcome pack thank you. The dogs were catered for too, it was lovely to take a holiday with dogs without worrying about anything. One of our dogs developed a limp just before the visit so it was really good to be able to take some short walks close to the annex although I hadn’t realised it was possible to hire a stroller which could have helped but didn’t spoil anything. Thank you so much for a lovely stay Terri and Richard

Wonderful week away at Badger’s Retreat

Really enjoyed our week in Norfolk staying at Badgers Retreat. Clean and comfortable accommodation with all amenities needed. We feed our x2 lurchers raw food and although there wasn’t quite enough freezer space for the full week Terri kindly stored some in her own freezer, so it wasn’t a problem at all. Lovely treats on arrival for humans and doggies that we managed to work our way through. Conservatory doors open on to a lovely garden, perfect for breakfast in the sunshine and evening relaxing. Garden looks out on to fields that are full of wildlife. It is low enough to see over which means that , as the description says it is not high. Our whippet lurcher is useless at jumping, and our greyhound lurcher is 12yrs and has never bothered to climb over hedges/walls to escape since we rescued her so it wasn’t a problem and they could wander at will, but might be a consideration for some. Terri and Richard are lovely welcoming and warm and their friendliness and kindness was much appreciated.

Has a lovely garden for smaller dogs

Badger’s Retreat is well described in the notes, and was clean and comfortable, with a friendly welcome. It’s in a great countryside location, particularly for walks along the lovely Weavers’ Way. The garden was secure for a border terrier, and our dog greatly enjoyed it. The walls would be too low for a bigger dog that likes to jump, but for a small dog it was great, with no small gaps to wiggle through, or fences to dig under. The conservatory was great to sit in on a cooler day. It is quite small inside, though. There also isn’t much sound-proofing from the main house, because of the way it was converted. All of which is fine if you’re using it as a base for exploring and will be out a lot. Or if the weather is nice and you’re out in the garden. Just something to be aware of.
