Cozy cottage with the comforts of home

I couldn’t have been more delighted with the cottage. Warm, dry, and pleasant even on a wet day, my family was excited to come home at the end of each of our hikes in the Cairngorms for a fire and reading in the comfy chairs and couches. The kitchen was perfectly stocked - even a cake pan for celebrating our sons birthday- and the location was very quiet. Hope to return again one day!

Peaceful Village Retreat

Rowan Park is a very pretty and quiet cul -de-sac, and number 9 sits at the far end. The house is very spacious inside, much larger than expected, so everyone has lots of space and are easily accommodated. The house was spotless on arrival and had a lovely homely feel. Kitchen had everything you could possibly need, and had a large dining nook, overlooking the bird feeders in the garden. The master bedroom is enormous, (our friend who ended up with it felt so spoilt to have such a gorgeous place of his own), and the other bedrooms are nicely sized and furnished with everything you need. Livingroom was a lovely place to spend the evenings and the roaring fire was a treat. No.9 sits on the edge of a forest, so very quickly you can be surrounded by nature. You can walk to Boat of Garten through the woods, and all trails are signposted. Within 2mins of beginning our walk we spotted 5 deer in the bushes and it made our day, so keep a good look out. Carrbridge itself is a beautiful village with lots of walks and things to explore and see. Highly recommend the Cairn Hotel bar, log fire, good food and great local beers, dog friendly too. We also took a walk to the railway station and nipped into Aviemore for an afternoon so you dont always have to drive if you want to explore further afield. Would highly recommend this property and will definitely be returning. Karen and Chris.

We have loved the Cairngorms area all our lives and now enjoy sharing it with our four children. We love the outdoor lifestyle here, so much to do and see - so many wonderful cafes to visit and cakes to eat! Number Nine really is a second home to us and we are sure it will leave you feeling the same way.

Why they chose this property

A very warm Highland welcome awaits in our lovely woodland village. Carrbridge is a thriving, friendly village with all the amenities you could ask for. There is a wonderful network of paths through the woods, up the river and beyond – endless walking and family friendly off-road cycling from the door. The woods can be accessed directly off our road. Mountain bikers will love it! The village has its own golf course, cafe, friendly local pub with excellent food, Spar shop and Post Office, pony trekking and the award winning Landmark Adventure Park offers a fabulous day out for the whole family. There is also an enchanting carving trail round the village. The local scenery and wildlife are exceptional. Further afield you will find the steam railway, historic buildings, walking for all abilities, lochs and hills, fishing, zip wires, watersports, skiing, clay pigeon shooting and the world famous Speyside whisky trail to name only a few. We are well positioned for exploring the entire Cairngorms National Park, Loch Ness and the wonderful Moray coast too. Come and see for yourself, you won't be disappointed!
