WE'RE OPEN AGAIN FOR IMMUNIZED FOLKS AND THEIR PETS
We're open for business after labor day, 2021. We lived here full time through the pandemic and really enjoyed the house. Now it's your turn.
No matter the season, our house is more than just a place to stay. Nestled on almost six wooded acres, complete with a pool, giant hidden separate lawn perfect for lawn games, abundant gardens, and a wrap around porch, the house has everything you need for an idyllic vacation in an idyllic location. Located on the edge of the New York, Massachusetts border, in addition to being close to skiing, the house is conveniently located close to Tanglewood (live music venue), Jacobs Pillow (dance performances) and the historic towns of the Berkshires (Lee, Lenox, Stockbridge). Other activities in the area include hiking in the New York and Massachusetts State Parks, boating, antiquing, a live weekly auction, and theater. Even if you choose to stay close to home, you will have plenty of options for outdoor entertainment, from swimming in the heated pool, to playing badminton or croquet on the large lawn behind the enclosed swimming area, to biking along the rolling farmlands of the neighborhood. At night, lay out on the comfortable deck furniture beneath the endless stars far from the light pollution of the city. For winter adventures, in addition to Jiminy Peak Ski Resort the area includes other options for both downhill and cross country skiing. Ski fans can choose to rent the house for the entire ski season -- usually December 1 through March 30, or by the month, for an attractive, flat fee (plus expenses). Here, there is an activity for ever season and a season perfect for any activity.
The house can accommodate up to twelve people with four bedrooms, three baths, and lots of bonus rooms in the basement. Well appointed, well furnished, and well stocked, with a handmade dining table and chairs, fireplaces inside, a fire pit outside, and plenty of cooking supplies for the passionate chef, this house has everything you need to forget your worries and just have a great vacation. We supply bikes, games, pool toys, and comfort, and you supply the memories and joy. We hope that you will make our country getaway a part of your family traditions.

We've only recently purchased this beautiful home which had been successfully offered through VRBO for many years by its prior owners. While the prior owner received uniformly rave reviews - and that success belongs to her - we have done our best to learn from her and continue the emphasis on beauty and grace, customer service, and anticipating traveler needs. We have traveled a lot and are quite familiar with the consumer's point of view . Based on our own experiences we feel pretty confident that we know what our renters want and need, and if we miss the mark, our three adult children will quickly point it out to us. We fell in love with the house the first time we saw it -- made an offer that afternoon and closed in a little more than a month. We hope you feel the same way about our home as we do.
Why they chose this property
As we say, it has it all. While we enjoy the company of others, we cherish our privacy. The house is secluded but has lots of room which will allow us to host large gatherings for extended family and friends. The area attractions which include: the Berkshires, Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Jiminy Peak, other skiing, museums, theater and antiquing and hiking in nearby State Parks - makes the house a convenient location no matter what you enjoy doing during your vacation. The setting is magnificent and then there is the house, the pool, and the property. While the exterior of the house is contemporary in style, the inside has an old world charm including beautiful wood paneling throughout the master bedroom. There is lots of room, tasteful and elegant furnishings, comfort and charm, and a functionality that we hope you will appreciate. The heated pool is luxurious and the landscaping, which has definitely kept us busy, is magnificent. It's the kind of place in which you wake up early to a bright sunny day and simply cannot wait to have your morning tea or coffee on one of the decks, enjoying both nature and wonderful creature comforts. It has it all.
What makes this property unique
The house had us the moment we saw the beautiful landscaping surrounded by tall mature trees and then it got better. The comfortably furnished living room(s), fire places and wood burning stoves cried out to us. The kitchen is great, but the butcher block island and the hand made dining room table wowed us. The master bedroom, converted from a library with magnificent wood built-ins, is something rarely seen in a modern home. After touring the bedrooms we were led down to the finished basement with what are mysteriously referred to (for legal reasons) as "bonus" rooms. Simply, there is tons of high quality space indoors. And then there's the outdoors. Spacious decks, magnificent gardens, almost 6 acres of mostly wooded grounds, a cleared meadow for lawn games, and the piece de resistance: the heated pool. You just have to see it to appreciate it. We hope you do.
