Upper Red Down is a cosy, two-bedroom, converted barn located on West Yeo Farm near Witheridge in mid Devon. Guests will love the rural tranquil location with plenty of wildlife and beautiful views, and the property has underfloor heating, plenty of parking and a large garden. Upon entering you will be welcomed into the open plan living space which feels bright and spacious. After a fun-filled day exploring Devon, gather around the dining table for a celebratory homecooked meal. coordinated with two comfortable sofas, a Smart TV with Freeview and a wood burner to warm those cooler evenings. The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, slimline dishwasher, washing machine and a tumble dryer. With doors opening out into the garden, where you can enjoy the sunny patio and idyllic views. Here you can rest in comfort, while the children make the most of the enclosed garden. Upstairs, the two beautiful bedrooms promise a good night’s sleep for four guests. The first bedroom has a kingsize bed and an en-suite shower room and the second has twin beds. Both are comfortably furnished with Egyptian linen and towels and the family bathroom is fitted with a bath tub.
Surrounded by rolling green fields in splendid isolation, West Yeo Farm is set over 76 acres. This medieval farm, mentioned in the Domesday book, enjoys uninterrupted countryside views across the valley to the village of Witheridge beyond. There are many interesting walks across the land and along the river nearby, and in the autumn, it is possible to help with the annual apple harvest and cider production. This part of Devon is an excellent touring base with easy access to lots of places of interest. Nearby you can explore the Two Moors Way, visit RHS Rosemoor, The Grand Western Canal, Knightshayes House or the breathtaking scenery at Exmoor National Park, a short drive away. There are plenty of National Trust properties in the area, as well as some fabulous villages and farm shops.
West Yeo Farm is just a couple of miles from Witheridge and a short drive from the market town of South Molton, known for its pannier market, quaint tea rooms and antiques shops. The accommodation is set midway between Devon’s two coastlines, convenient for a day out to either. The award-winning North Devon coastline is within a 50-minute drive and has golden sandy surfing beaches, whilst the Jurassic South Devon coastal beauty spots are within an hour’s drive.
