About this property

The house is 3 stories and we rent out the lower floor. It has it's own private entry, patio and is very private. Your privacy is important to us! Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, 4 bedrooms/spaces/1.5 bath residence. These bedrooms are very versatile - two bedrooms each separated by a non see-through curtain. The main bedroom has a king-sized bed, while the remaining rooms are furnished with a full-sized bed, comfortable for sleeping 8 people. The stunning living room is furnished with couches and an entertainment center for your enjoyment. The kitchen is perfect for dining as it is equipped with a full oven, full size refrigerator, dishwasher, and all the amenities. The property is just minutes away from all of the The Biltmore Estate, wineries, beer taverns and tasting, shopping and downtown Asheville. Lake Lure, Grandfather Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Mount Pisgah and other sites are also nearby.

Great location

Listing does not properly describe the difficulty of tge steepnees of driveway and the drop-off to the uneven and difficult to navigate walkway to entrance. When arriving with luggage muddy rocky walkway is difficult. Furniture in home is dilapidated and uncomfortable floor was filthy turning socks and feet. Heating system difficult to manage and landlord living above gives no consideration to their noise down below to rental vacuuming and pacing and talking loudly as well as early in morning, typically 5am. When stripping beds at departure as requested you can see the mattresses need replacement. requested the mattress

Plenty of beds!

A great place if you have a large group and are mainly need a place to spend the night, as long as you are very quiet and plan to be settled in by 9:30. Clean and well maintained, very large kitchen but not well equipped for much cooking. Nice neighborhood, limited access to the outside.

Misleading

We went to check in and was told by the owner that they thought we were coming the next day-so we needed to come back because they were not ready. Then the unit had a musty smell. The listing pictures four rooms; however, there are only two separated by a curtain.

Not what I expected

The house was very pretty but not what i expected. I was staying for a week so i was glas to have a washer and dryer to use. When I got there, there was a sign on the dryer...does not work! That wasn't cool, now i have to go to the laundry mat to take my stuff. Then every morning around 6:30am it sounded like she put on heals and walked around. You could tell the difference between the dog running around and the heavy tip tap all morning, every morning. She wanted all the beds stripped and towels put in the wash and the dishwasher loaded upon leaving. I paid a cleaning fee, why do i have to clean up everything. I took all the trashbout and even asked her for garbage bags to clean up my mess. Her response was, "sure!" There are steps going up from the door to an area, so i went up to take a look and the steps were so slippery I fell and hurt my leg and foot pretty badly. The sitting area that was in the picture was non existent so you had know where to sit outside and relax. Not one of my favorite rentals.

A wonderful place to stay

The apartment was adorable. But be careful on the driveway and walkway. It was a little difficult (but doable) with mobility-challenged people.

Family Gathering in Asheville

The description and pictures are accurate and the process was very smooth. Lisa accommodated an extra day due to a family emergency which was much appreciated. I would note that we were asked to park on the right side of the driveway which is very steep. It could be a challenge for elderly or disabled persons to get in and out of a car and to access the walkway to the entrance. Otherwise, great location!

Shareable space!

Well done space with lots of room. Nice kitchen and living rooms. Two main bedrooms with adjoining bunk rooms for the kids. Host Lisa was super helpful and responsive! I would absolutely stay here again.

Disappointed 10+ year VRBO customer

The outside walkway to the rental area remains dangerous. There needs to be more flat walking stones placed. The smaller "fill in" stones are not level and are not buried deep enough. It was wet from rains so very unstable. We were very disappointed in cleanliness especially when you pay for cleaning with rentals. Bathtub tile was gross as well as the mold under overflow drain. The place looks like they had some rough renters with all the marks on the walls, broken base of trundle bed , corner of dresser and base of dishwasher. The price reflects these inside issues. Second "bathroom" is a converted closet. I would suggest fixing walkway for sure. Safety first we nearly toppled.

Roadtrip

The basement house was very nice and lot more room than I thought. It’s really only 2 bedrooms with curtains that divide rooms into 4. Only issue we had was the very steep driveway and we had a suburban so it was a tight fit. Location was nice area -outskirts of town but took 20 min + to get to most places so with mountains it made our day trips long. (Trade off for quite and neighborhood). We enjoyed our stay and would rent again for sure. The extra space was nice from our long road trip in suburban.

Very spacious

This property is very spacious, clean, and well-appointed. The property is in a beautiful neighborhood. Downtown Asheville is a 20 minute drive, but it is difficult and expensive to Uber there. The beds are comfortable, and the living room was a nice place to relax. I definitely recommend.

Perfect Location

We were 20-30 minutes away from everything we wanted to do. Set up is perfect for two family rental with small kids also. Owner very responsive. No outdoor grill or seating area though. I wasn’t sure about staying with owners but with separate entrances, you would never know the difference. They do have a quiet time listed after 9:30pm so if ur a night owl or rowdy crew this is not the place for you. It worked out perfectly for us and I would recommend again.

Perfect for camp drop off!

My mom and I drove to NC to drop my kids off at sleep away camp and then stayed here to explore Asheville and the surrounding areas for the week. It was perfect for that!

Property is as advertised. You are staying in a basement that has a walkout and a few windows. The homeowners are upstairs very quiet and courteous. Great value for the price.

Okay, wouldn't stay here again

The property and area are stunning. Day of our arrival, I received an email from the owner asking what time we would arrive. Since we were driving from out-of-state, I only responded when we were about one hour out. The owner was waiting on her porch for us. She promptly advised that we needed to be quiet during our stay...she previously had a guest who used the vrbo for a party. Evidently there was an incident during the party where a guest threatened to harm themself and took off; the police were called. The owner told us this immediately upon arrivall, to ensure that we knew to keep any noise down. ( Thee walkway to the vrbo was hazardous, to say the least. Various random large stones/rocks made up the walk, and we had to be extremely careful using the entrance area. Gorgeous outside area. Unfortunately, the outside area as shown in the lhotos ano olonger has any furniture; there were also instructions posted that we could NOT take anything outside to sit on. So....the outdoor space is useless. The photo in the listing should be removed. Once we entered the area, we found it to be gorgeous and well maintained. A warning, while there are plenty of beds, the rooms are open to each other (1 room plus 1 room), equalling four areas. There was also a posting that hairdryers could only be used in one bathroom; anywhere else of being used could cause a circuit to short out. A bit short on supplies, which we contacted the owner about and she happily provided same.. It seems the owners also rise early in the morning, we could hear nnoise ioverhead each day.
