Our stay in London was unfortunately not a pleasant experience, despite the house meeting our expectations in some aspects. The location was convenient, and the kitchen was well-equipped (although the extractor fan didn’t seem to work, causing the smoke alarm to go off while cooking just two slices of bacon for breakfast). The major issues, however, were the lack of hot water and heating during our 2 nights stay. On the first day, the boiler broke down, leaving us without hot water and unable to shower. The following day, the heating failed entirely, forcing us to rely on portable heaters at night. Being without these basic necessities in December is a significant discomfort, and it falls far below the minimum standards expected, especially given the cost of the accommodation. What made the situation worse was how the hosts handled it. While we appreciated their responsiveness, the solutions provided were ineffective, and the attitude of minimizing the inconvenience was disappointing.
