The apartment itself is lovely, and is very well situated. It's spacious, airy, and very easy to live in. The air-conditioning is effective and silent, the TV offers a number of options, and the shower is superb. We loved the apartment and would have stayed there again BUT IT WAS LET DOWN by what wasn't there, that should have been. We couldn't use the balcony. There were two sun loungers with plastic slats. They couldn't be used as they would have been uncomfortable and they got boiling hot as there were no cushions on the loungers. There was no parasol or awning on the balcony so one would have had to sit in direct sun, which isn't comfortable, and dangerous health-wise. I contacted the property manager and was told that in a few days, sun cushions and a parasol would arrive. In our 10-day stay, they didn't. A few days before we left, a lightweight, flimsy parasol was dropped off, and we were cautioned to watch out for the wind. It blew over the balcony railing within 30 minutes, and couldn't be used. So we couldn't use the balcony at all. Very importantly, there was NO BOOK GIVING INFORMATION about the apartment or area. We contacted the property manager, and he gave a phone number if we needed anything. Had we needed to call the police, fire, or any emergency service, we would not have known how to do so. We'd have had to call the property manager, and hope he answered! In all the years, I've been renting accommodation, I have never been in a place where there was no information about it. Knowledge of the idiosyncrasies of the dish washer and washing machine would have been useful. Knowing when there'd be a bed linen changeover and new towels would have been helpful. We went to a neighbouring reception to find out details about getting to Lagos, as there was nothing for us in our apartment. CLEANLINESS. The apartment itself was spotless when we arrived. I emailed the property manager asking when the bed linen and towels would be changed. I was told that towels would be changed half way through the stay. This happened. The maid put something down the loo at the same time, and that was it. Despite being assured that after 7 days, we'd have fresh bed linen, this never happened. For 10 days , in the heat, we had the same linen. Again, this was an unwelcome first for me. To sum up, it's a lovely apartment, but it's being let down by the impossibility of using the balcony, and by inadequate maid service. I hope the manager addresses these issues.
