About this property
Brambles, Brancaster Staithe, Norfolk
Located in the picturesque coastal village of Brancaster Staithe, Brambles is an attractive traditional local chalk and brick hideaway. Just moments away from North Norfolk's glorious coastal path and the fishing boats at the pretty staithe, you can enjoy sampling the freshest of seafood from the fish shed, and the two award-winning pubs. At Brambles you have everything you need to enjoy an authentic coastal Norfolk holiday right on the doorstep.
Situated at the far end of the village, Brambles is an ideal catch for walkers, birdwatchers, sailors, and fresh air loving folk who enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. Comfortably furnished in a traditional style, this detached bungalow is nestled just off the coast road. A good fit for all ages and all manner of holidaymakers, dog are welcome here too. The inviting sitting room and adjoining garden room with dining area, enjoy a warm and sunny, south facing aspect. An open fire adds extra warmth and ambient light on chillier evenings when the urge to hunker down and staying put takes you. The fitted kitchen is well-equipped, and with extra facilities available in the garage too, you will have all you need for your stay. Outside, the south-facing garden at the rear of Brambles is fully enclosed, making it a safe place for children and dogs to play. Dine al fresco in the warmth of the sun, gathered together around the outdoor dining table. With secure bike storage available, you can bring your bikes to explore on two wheels. The generous driveway offers off-road parking for up to four cars.
Brambles offers the best of both worlds; a great base for both staying local, and a perfectly situated launchpad for exploring further afield. Leave the car behind and catch the Coastliner bus as it passes by, and allow yourself to be easily transported along the stunning coastline to expansive sandy beaches and through quaint historical villages. A five minute walk away, The Jolly Sailors pub welcomes muddy boots should you wish to dine in, or order one of their famed takeaway pizzas to go. For more formal dining book a table in advance at The White Horse which boasts spectacular view of the marshes from its conservatory and terrace. If you're keen to rustle something up at home, The Fish Shed on the main road at Brancaster Staithe provides local fresh fish and produce. A trip would not be complete without tasting the famous Brancaster mussels, in season when there is an 'R' in the month, buy from the hard at Brancaster Staithe, or from Mervyn on the main road, who harvests them from the beds at the bottom of his garden. Fresh local crab is also on sale a few doors up. Kayaks and boats can be hired locally - but make sure you know the tides. Wildlife along the coast is abundant and accessible. You will see marsh harriers wheel overhead along with avocets, oystercatchers and terns.
