Our chalet is in a prime position, close to parking and with unspoilt views across the valley. It is a front row chalet- please see photos showing the views from the living and bedroom area. It is located on a peaceful park just a short drive from the historic and naval town of Dartmouth.
It is fully equipped to enable you to enjoy a home from home experience in the glorious Devon countryside. The fully equipped kitchen allows you to enjoy home cooked food should you wish to. The spacious bathroom also has a washing machine available for guests to use.
Immediately outside the chalet is a flat grass area, perfect for morning coffee or a sunny BBQ. All linen and towels are provided. The chalet complies with the latest fire safety legislation (October 2023).
Norton Park is a private, safe and quiet site set in the countryside with large areas of grass for walking or playing games with the family. There are also a number of picnic tables to enjoy alfresco dining or just watch the sun set. The car park area is a handy 30-40 m from the chalet door. Guests comment positively on the comfort, size and views from the chalet . There is no electric coin meter in the chalet- cost of electric is included.
Dartmouth is just 3 miles down the road and there is a Park and Ride 1 mile along the road making trips into Dartmouth hassle free. Norton Park has a bus stop outside the main entrance from which buses can be hailed either into Dartmouth or into Totnes.
Dartmouth is a bustling naval, sailing and fishing town located on the mouth of the river Dart. There are an abundance of cafés, restaurants, independent shops and art galleries in the centre and the famous Dartmouth Castle to visit. As you would expect from a busy harbour, there is always something interesting to watch whilst sitting along the front. Dartmouth is a hub of activity all year round with many events organised and of course the infamous Dartmouth Regatta in late August.
You can catch the ferry across to Kingswear to enjoy walks with glorious views over the estuary or hop aboard the steam train heading towards Paignton, which have unrivalled views along the way.
A 5 minute drive down the road is the area's only theme park, Woodlands. This provides hours of family fun in all weathers. There are rides, including water shutes and a vast soft play centre.
There are many beaches to enjoy within striking distance of Norton Park, the closest being Blackpool Sands a 10 minute drive. A visit to the Torbay area, approximately 30 mins away, gives access to Paignton beach, pier and zoo, Goodrington Sands and the outdoor water park, Splashdown Quaywest- a popular attraction for children.
In the other direction the golden beaches of Bantham, popular with surfers, as well as Thurlstone, Hope Cove and Salcombe entice those who enjoy long days on the beach watching the boats come and go.
