I never leave reviews, but felt like I should for this stay. The house was great and exactly as described, but the host was better. After our rental car had issues our last night, Tom came and picked us up in town and brought us back to the house. He was a huge help for our entire family.
We stayed at this cabin back in 2021 over Christmas and were able to come back for Christmas 2024. We had a great time just like the last time. There were so many games and puzzles, as well as a large area inside and outside to explore. Great hosts. Also had a Christmas tree, which made it even better. We had 3 adults, 2 kids, & 2 dogs stay & it was wonderful.
My husband and our two dogs stayed for the weekend and felt right at home. The kitchen had all of what we needed for cooking. We were able to watch our favorite Christmas movies on the dish network and puzzles and boardgames were provided.
Amazing stay at the cabin! We were hoping for a quiet getaway and got just that. A big snowstorm came through the day before arrival, but the driveway was well plowed and we had no trouble with access from I-70 to the cabin. Check in instructions were clear and the shortest check out instructions I’ve ever seen. The cabin was well stocked in the bathroom and kitchen allowing for a cozy stay without having to venture out for supplies. The big TV was easy to use. The best part was the cozy wood fireplace with wood and fire starters provided. We enjoyed a Thanksgiving meal, sled down the driveway hill, visited shops in nearby Georgetown, and saw some elk around town! Disappointed to not hike St Mary’s Glacier because the wind was too cold, so we’ll definitely return in the summer to do that!
This was one of the best VBRO have stayed at. Communication with owner was excellent. All the special touches. They thought of everything to make the stay great. Saw hummingbirds, and 2 moose. Was a great home away from home. Highly recommend staying here.
Super clean cabin, walk to st Mary’s glacier trail
We were very happy with the cabin. Very clean, had everything we needed. The backyard is gorgeous with a waterfall and hammocks. Easy communication, very comfortable furniture, well equipped kitchen, and great location to acclimate to the altitude before some big summits. We would stay again if ever in the area.
We enjoyed staying at the cabin with our dogs. Beautiful front and back porches, creek side location. We even got to watch some snow coming down at the end of May!
The cabin was so adorable and cozy. Literally had everything we needed! So easy to get to and so easy to get other places from there. We did some fishing while there, but werent able to fish the ponds offered by the property because they were still frozen! In (early) May! LOL. Absolutely recommend this cabin and owner.
We were there to bury my mom so didn't take advantage of all the amenities. The house was fantastic and in a great location. Our two Mastiffs had plenty of room and loved walks around the property. If we ever return to the area I would love to stay here again.
What an incredible little cabin to take a break from life and enjoy nature with the kids. We loved playing in the creek outback, roasting s’mores, waking up to the cool Colorado morning air and the cabin being fully stocked with everything you could think of! It was so nice to have s’mores sticks and firewood already there. The fridge was stocked with condiments and even some left over adult beverages from prior guests!
This cabin was supposed to be where we would hold our dream outdoor wedding. I fell in love with the property and they were so kind and agreed to let me have a wedding there. Because of well…. Life…. We ended up eloping and staying here for our honeymoon. It was so wonderful. It was exactly as described and pictured, they worked with us on everything, and the cabin really felt like home. Turns out, they still helped me have my dream and I can’t say enough how thankful I am.
We stayed here for 5 nights. It was the most wonderful location, as it is very peaceful and remote. We got a lot of snow during our visit and there would of been no way to access the property without a 4 wheel drive vehicle. The house was very clean and came appointed with everything you need. I was able to cook every evening and didn't need anything that the kitchen didn't provide. My teens enjoyed playing in the snow in the backyard and cozying up next to the fireplace at night. Idaho Springs is a short 15 to 20 min drive away and has lots of cute shopping, restaurants, and bars to enjoy. This was definitely one of the best vacations we have ever taken.
We spent a weekend here to catch up with friends and it couldn't have been more perfect! The location is great, quiet and private, close to town and St Mary's glacier for snowshoeing. The cabin is cozy and spacious, very organized, and it was easy to cook meals and play games. It was the cleanest place I have stayed in years, including major hotels.
We definitely want to return sometime!

We originally purchased this property because mom the awesome location. We went through a complete remodel on it. Including bath, kitchen, floors, windows, fireplace, and interior/exterior stain.
Why they chose this property
Location!! Being on a flat lot, it has lots of usable space to park and hang out. Sit out on the front patio in the morning and enjoy the sun and humming birds while you drink your coffee. Grill out on the huge deck out back over looking the flowing creek. Enjoy a fire at night in the fire pit by the creek! Only 1/4 mile hike to get to the trail head for the glacier hike. Only 12 miles to Idaho Springs. Enjoy restaurants and shops on Main St, rafting, and zip lines!
What makes this property unique
Completely remodeled. Fully stocked kitchen to make you right at home. Professionally cleaned and managed. Right on the creek!
