Town: The prosperous highland Perthshire settlement of Comrie gets its name from the Gaelic term conruith, which means 'a place where rivers meet,' which is fitting given that the village is situated at the junction of three rivers that eventually flow into the Tay. There are several standing stones and archaeological remnants in the region, indicating that it was formerly populated. Today, the community benefits from wildlife and adventure tourism, since its position allows visitors to explore the surrounding mountains and lochs.
