New for 2022, The Old Workshop is a fantastic split level, open plan holiday accommodation, oozing character in the heart of the bustling village of Bidford-on-Avon.
Situated in the glorious gardens of the old vicarage overlooking St Laurence Church, this former workshop was once used by the jewellers T. A. Durants who were located on the high street and now has been beautifully converted into luxury and unique accommodation with excellent attention to detail.
Enter through the large oak glazed door into a generous entrance hall with oak wood flooring and stairs leading down to the large comfortable bedroom. A peaceful super king bedroom that boasts French doors to the walled courtyard providing a private outdoor space to enjoy your morning coffee or an evening drink. From the entrance hall is a further set of stairs leading up to the fabulous airy open plan kitchen/living area with high vaulted ceilings and a large window overlooking the courtyard to the River Avon and the iconic stone bridge which dates back to the 15th century.
The Old Workshop benefits from underfloor heating throughout. You’ll find yourself in the centre of this Warwickshire village from the front door with plenty of local amenities including the village cafe, a range of local shops including a pharmacy, local butcher, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and take aways. The Old Workshop is located with easy walking access of the River Avon and the Big Meadow, a 26-acre recreational park located on the river where you can find some tranquillity with plenty of beautiful walks along the river and through meadows. Enjoy a picnic watching the boats travel down the River Avon or take to the water in a kayak or paddle board. Alternatively hire a narrow boat for the day.
Situated on the Heart of England Way, there are multiple walking routes including gentle walks to each of Marcliff and Barton locks or longer scenic routes including along the Avon River Walk to Stratford upon Avon. Set in the heart of Shakespeare Country, The Old Workshop is a 10-minute drive from the famous playwright’s birthplace of Stratford Upon Avon where you will find an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and historic houses as well as The Royal Shakespeare Theatre. A short 20-minute drive will take you into the beautiful Cotswolds, where you can take in picturesque villages of Broadway, Chipping Campden, Snowshill and Stow on the Wold. Situated near to the Vale of Evesham where a variety of produce is grown in the local area, there are many farm shops and cafes and to be enjoyed close by.
