Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
Town: Tintagel is a famous but not congested tourist destination because of the mythical King Arthur's Castle, whose remnants dominate the cliffside just beyond the settlement. The sea, rocky coves, and breathtaking views dominate the surrounding area. Several beaches, notably adjacent Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove, are easily accessible, and surfing is the main draw for water lovers. Tintagel contains a number of bars and eateries, including the National Trust's Old Post Office. The SW Coast Path runs through the settlement and winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water's edge through spectacular terrain in both directions. The lovely village of Boscastle, with its quaint waterfront and village pubs for refreshment, lies 2.5 miles north along the trail. The surfing meccas of Newquay and Bude, with its resort attractions, are a 40-minute drive away, as are the vast areas of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, and the Camel Estuary.
