About this property

In a NO WAKE COVE with a GENTLY SLOPED LOT! Fast WIFI INCLUDED! We recently purchased this home and have painted and updated the furnishings. It is clean and comfortable with plenty of space for everyone! It is in a perfect mid-lake location, near the State Park at marker R-21.

Inside you will find fresh new linens and decor, comfortable furniture and brand new kitchen appliances. There is plenty to do to keep everyone busy on a rainy day or after sunset. There are 4 new flat screen TV's with Xfinity service, unlimited data wifi, a pool table, air hockey table, and foosball table, and an arcade style game machine.

Outside, it only gets better! This is what you come to the lake for! Huge new deck with plenty of seating and a large grilling area. The deck has expansive views of the cove and beautiful sunsets. There is a gentle slope to the dock that even the grandparents can do, with a pathway the whole way. There is a covered seating area at the dock, a floater with plenty of room to tie off a boat, and DEEP water. The dock is nestled just inside a no wake area, making it great for swimming and kayaking. There is an outdoor firepit with comfy new adirondack chairs. Also, new for 2021, we have removed the wooden pathway to the lake and replaced it with a concrete pathway!

Occupancy limit is set to 6 due to limitations of Bedford County rental permit.

Summer Vacation

Everyone enjoyed their time at Challenge Accepted. We rented this house with another couple and our kids (21, 19 and 16). Much time was spent on the dock fishing, lounging, floating and swimming. The location on a quiet cove is ideal. The house is comfortable with plenty of space. We enjoyed nightly games on the pool table and making smores at the fire pit. We cooked dinner every night and the kitchen was stocked with any pot, pan or utensil needed. Convenient location near stores and activities.

Great Girls Weekend

We loved staying at this beautiful property. It was well stocked, and we really appreciated that the kayaks were already there for us to use. Theresa was a great host, and communication was quick and easy. We would definitely come back again!

Family gathering for graduation

Our family had a wonderful time at the lovely “Challenge Accepted”! The home is super clean and has everything you need to cookout and prepare meals. It has lots to do both inside and outdoors. We will definitely be back!

Everything you could want - Perfect

We planned this rental so that our adult kids and significant others could join us for some extended time together. From the moment we walked in we were "Wow'ed"! The views from the upper deck and the dock are beautiful. The living area is spacioius and beautifully decorated. Fully appointed kitchen with everything you need. There is a game room downstairs wth another full refridgerator. The dock is a great place to hang out and we enjoyed the kayaks. The host is responsive and truly wants this to be a place to return to. We highly recommend and will stay here again.

My Three Sons

The home & location exceeded our expectations. My three adult sons joined me for a relaxing week of catching up & building more great memories. Our Favorite Lake House

My friends and I have rented this house for the last 3 or 4 years. We love it. Very clean, gorgeous view of the lake, all of the amenities you need and plenty of space. Perfect!

What a Gem!

We loved our stay at Challenge Accepted. Our kids ranged in age from 7 to 17 and everyone found something to keep them entertained inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked. The beds were very comfortable and the view was priceless! We would love to stay over the summer to take advantage of all of the activities on the lake.

Amazing lake getaway

Challenge Accepted was a very clean nice house. Plenty of space to spread out! Lots of pots, pans, dishes and even a crockpot! Would definitely recommend!

Quiet weekend getaway

We really loved this visit. The home was exactly as described and was the perfect getaway for our teenage boys who love to fish! Coming in fall allowed us to use the kayaks during warm days and the fire pit on the chilly nights. We would love to return to this lovely home again!

Ladies Getaway

Five friends from college got together at this beautiful waterfront getaway. With five bedrooms, we all had our own room, and had plenty of space in the house to reconnect. The lake view is great. We spent a lot of time on the deck relaxing in the fall air. we took nice long, walks up the road, running into some deer along the way. A tip for others, driving in late after dark, the last mile is past the dead-end sign, on a gravel road. I hope to visit again and would book here if available!!

Wonderful weekend!

We had a wonderful weekend at Smith mountain lake at this beautiful property! The kayaks and game room were such a great combo with having a mix of weather conditions - our 8-11yo’s had such a blast! Definitely hoping to return in the summer.

Grace Reunion

Everything was lovely, very well stocked, clean, great location on water with wonderful views. We were a little “thrown” when we reached the sign” end road maintenance, no turn around” so we did circle back only to realize the house was down this road. Two bathrooms had a bath mat, one did not Thinking of booking again in future Location and neighborhood above was left blank only because of confusion at road sign. Clarify directions and 5 stars.

Beautiful getaway!

Very nice location with great view. Quiet surroundings. Everything in the house was in good shape and nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable and it was convenient that bed linens were included. Nice sitting areas outside. I would stay here again!

We love SML and “Challenge Accepted”!

We had such an enjoyable time at “Challenge Accepted”!! The house was very clean, has so much room and so many amenities! The owners have thought of everything! The beds were very comfortable, the kitchen is spacious and well-stocked, and we really appreciated all the pantry space for our food. There are so many comfortable areas to hang out, both inside (spacious living areas on both floors), and outside (beautiful deck upstairs and nice shady patio down, both with tables and plenty of seating). We were blessed with sunny fall weather and spent most of our time on the large dock sunning (plenty of lounge chairs), fishing, and paddling in the kayaks. The house is on a lovely location on the lake, just inside a no-wake zone. No fear if weather is bad…there is a combo pool/air hockey table, foosball table and arcade game machine. We just didn’t have time to enjoy all of these entertainment amenities! Maybe next stay? Terry was so attentive and responded to my inquiries and questions promptly. Overall, we had a fabulous long weekend, and cannot wait to book another stay! We highly recommend. Thanks again, Terry!!

Family Trip

We had a great time at “Challenge Accepted”. It was a great secluded location with great views. The home had everything we we needed. Very clean inside and outside and had plenty of room. Amenities were great. Loved the games downstairs and the fire pit. Dock at the lake was great for hanging out during the day and we enjoyed swimming and using the kayaks and canoe. We would definitely recommend this home and would definitely consider staying here again.

Perfection

We rented this house for a mom getaway. It was even better than the pictures had shown. Very close to some fun attractions, including state, parks, and some shopping. I would definitely books this location again with no question. It is a wonderful place for a family trip as well.

Had a little trouble with electronic lock but Terry took care of it. Place was very nice. Loved sitting on deck and dock. Decorated cute and had plenty of everything we needed. Remember only bed linen is included so bring towels and such.
