About this property
Secret Cottage, stunning & spacious cottage in "secret" village location
A charming, detached 19th-century former coach house which has recently undergone major, yet sympathetic, renovations to create a stunning home from home. This beautiful cottage lies tucked away in a secluded, secret position behind the other houses in Lake Road, hence the name. Besides it runs a babbling brook and there are places to sit, both inside and outside, where you can sit, relax and feel your troubles melt away as you watch the water go by. Lovingly refurbished to a high specification it provides modern-day comforts with contemporary touches whilst still retaining its cosy, cottage feel. The owners have managed to create a warm and welcoming yet stylish and spacious home, a place where visitors really can enjoy the best of both worlds.
The delights of Coniston village are just minutes from the doorstep and if it's the outdoors you crave then footpaths & cycle ways are close by too, heading down towards the lake and up into the into the surrounding Coniston fells. In, essence Secret Cottage is a fantastic base for couples, friends and families looking to explore the local area.
Ground Floor
Entrance through a traditional Lakeland porch, into slate tiled hallway with plenty of space to kick off muddy boots and wet weather gear.
To the right is the spacious and welcoming, open plan kitchen-dining room. From here a door leads through to the spacious sitting room with wood burning stove, comfortable seating, TV and a plethora of local walking books and guides. At the rear of the room, French windows flood the area with sunlight and allow guests easy access out into the delightful cottage garden.
The newly refitted kitchen & dining room is light and bright and benefits from electric hob & oven, dishwasher, fridge/freezer microwave and table with seating for 6 next to a window looking out over the beck.
Access to the two ground floor bedrooms is up two slate tiled steps.
Bedroom 1 - King sized sleigh bed & en-suite shower room with W.C.
Bedroom 2 - King size bed or twin single 2'6" beds with en-suite shower and W.C
First Floor
Bedroom 3 - King sized bed and en-suite bathroom with bath and shower over.
Outside
Gardens surround the cottage, to the right of the cottage is lies a lovely little walled garden with fell views and garden furniture. A fence is in place in the beck side garden however we recommend that children and pets should be supervised in this area due to the proximity to the stream which can be deep after rain.
There's also a utility room with washing machine, tumble dryer & storage area for bikes and outdoor gear.
