Lake Huron Lake House - Sleeps 10

Ready for your Lake Huron getaway? Enjoy your very own sandy beach - located on the "Golden Mile" between the communities of Au Gres and Tawas City, Michigan. This lake home has all of the amenities of home; including a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, WiFi, and a breathtaking view of Lake Huron. The home has a master bedroom with king bed and a second bedroom with queen bed. If you choose the front bedroom you will wake to beautiful sunrises! The bunk room sleeps 6! There are 2 bathrooms, washer/dryer and even central air conditioning for those hot and humid Michigan days.

On most days you will see Charity Island, the Gravelly Shoals Light and often the freighters travelling the Great Lake Huron. Not only are the sunrises priceless but you can spend your days in Lake Huron, building sand castles or making sand cities, taking walks, or just lounging on the deck overlooking the beach. Kids and adults will both enjoy the 50 foot dock and swim ladder. *Thanks to Mother Nature water levels and current beach are ever changing. We try to keep the photos as updated and accurate, as possible.

Wake up and watch the sunrise with a fresh cup of coffee (keurig provided). You can grill on the stamped concrete patio and have your own campfire with s'mores. Just a few miles north is the Alabaster Trail - perfect for biking, running or walking. A few miles south you can sneak in 18 holes at Huron Breeze Golf Course. Bring your fishing gear as Lake Huron is known for some of the best year-round fishing. While you are enjoying your getaway you might take advantage of local marinas, dinner cruises to Charity Island, specialty shopping, restaurants, a theater, many summer festivals and events, and a casino just miles to the south.

Excellent lake house for a family or group
This charming lake house was the perfect location and set up for our family. We had direct access to the lake and the beach where we kayaked, went for walks and swam. The outdoor shower was great for rinsing sandy feet, and the Adirondack chairs were perfect for reading in the morning with a cup of coffee. The kitchen was well stocked and there were plenty of towels and beach towels. The only drawback was the fact that we were required to empty the outside trash can before we left, and the dump was not open the day we checked out. We ended up taking the trash to my relative’s house down the road, but had this not been an option, we would have had to leave it. Overall, definitely recommend!

We had a wonderful and relaxing time.
The cottage was very clean and communication with Sarah was timely and appropriate with two minor issues that came up (that did not negatively impact our stay), she was helpful and kind. The outdoor photos don't do this place justice. Plenty of grass in the back yard for the kids to run and the water level wasn't too high while we were there so we also had plenty of beach. Found tons of sea glass and Petoskey stones. Nice grills and fireplace too. Overall very comfortable and we would love to return.

This was our second time staying at the property. It is a gorgeous location, as well as being a great house for hanging out in a group setting. Owners communicated very well, and the entire process was quick and easy. Hope to be back next year!

We loved your home!
It was a great choice for us to be able to stay in your home. We hope to stay in your welcoming home in the future, given our family is aging and we want to enjoy more visits with them. I do feel the kitchen’s cooking pots and pans were insufficient to feed more than 3-4 people. They were small, in comparison to the amount of people the home can actually support. Only my husband and I stayed but we wanted to cook pasta one night for everyone and breakfast another day and it was nearly impossible. We had to cook the meat in the pot; set it aside; then clean the same pot so we could cook the pasta. We were definitely innovative. The sauce pan was able to only cook one pound of ground meat and it could barely hold the sauce, we had to overhaul our process. I would only ask for a larger pot and a much larger sauce pan, if possible, so it aligns with the amount of people the home can actual sleep/house. Other than that (which is minor in the grand scheme of things), I have absolutely zero complaints. Everything else was absolutely perfect. Thank you for letting us stay. -Maria

Relaxing lakefront family trip
The home is so beautiful and well cared for. There was everything we need for a relaxing trip with our three kids. The water levels were high right now,, but we enjoyed the amazing view from the yard. It was so nice to hear the waves even while we sat inside eating dinner. Everything was there, even down to smores sticks for the fire! Sarah was very responsive and helpful! We will definitely return!

Perfect getaway!
This is our very favorite property and the first time we have chosen to return to a property we rented. The owners are fantastic to work with and the house is an absolute gem! The owners made several updates since our first stay, all amazing. They added a very nice firepit area, a dining area outside and multiple grill options. This home is directly on Lake Huron and the sound of the waves crashing into the break wall was so relaxing! We spent our time kayaking, roasting hotdogs and marshmallows, playing games, reading books and floating for hours on our floats tethered to the dock. We love that linens and towels are provided so that we don't have to pack. The refrigerator is large and stored all our shopping for the week. We love the large picture windows and the view is breathtaking. My favorite addition is the lighted indoor tree! We already miss this home and will definitely be returning soon!!

I loved staying at your house on Lake Huron. It was very peaceful. The view is excellent. Charity Island is on the horizon, as are the lighted windmills across the bay. The house was neat and clean with a great layout for couples or a family with kids. The "Scott's" sign at the road was perfect to help find the driveway at night. Communication with Sarah and Scott was timely and always friendly, making me feel very welcome at their home. Check-in and out was quick and easy. Sarah provided a checklist to simplify the process. I would definitely stay here again and I would recommend this property. Thank you for making my stay more enjoyable and stress free.

Beautiful Lake Huron
From the minute we walked in the door and seen the view from these 2 huge windows, we knew it was going to be a great weekend. The beach Decor was so soothing. Our bed was so comfy. We spent the whole three days sitting on the deck right on the beach. It was perfect watching the kids play but not having to be in the sand. My married children loved the kayaks. They kayaked two or three times a day. I’m definitely gonna rent again next summer. Thank you so much Sarah and Mike.

Perfect Beach Home!
Wow! was our first impression when we arrived! This is one of the nicest vacation homes we have ever stayed at. Entire home - inside and outside - was super clean! Beds and furniture were so comfy. Kitchen was stocked with anything you may need/want. Lots of chairs, lovely stone patio, patio table, deck and deck chairs on beach, very nice wood burning fire fit, etc. for enjoyment outdoors. Kids had so much fun playing on the sand/beach and in the water with the included toys! Communication with Sarah was the best! Thank You Mike and Sarah for sharing your enchanting home with us! My family and I will be back!

This place is a dream! The pictures don’t do it justice. The cabin is SO charming and very well kept. The design is beautiful and makes you feel right at home. The bunk room ceilings are super high and the room is incredibly spacious and can sleep 6 people without them feeling cramped. Sarah was incredible at communicating and made our stay perfect. It’s also located in a very convenient location and the views of the water are out of this world. Make sure you wake up early to see the sun rise! We will definitely be back!

Best beach vacation we’ve ever had!
We have rented beach houses for family vacation all over the US. This home is by far the best equipped, well kept, clean and comfortable we have ever stayed at. There is a fantastic lake view from the living area and front bedroom. The water is high on Lake Huron this year and we initially thought that would dampen the fun the kids could have on the waters edge. It didn’t a bit. The lake has great rock picking and sandy bottom. We played in the waves and floated for hours. When the waves were calm we took kayaks out. The area was quiet during the midweek, folks were friendly. I’m picky about cleanliness, this house is beautifully clean with high end finishes. Plenty of fluffy towels, great sheets, pillows and mattresses. We will happily drive the 12 hours to visit again next year!

A wonderful lake house vacation
Our experience exceeded our expectations. The house was lovely and yet comfy for families. Everything was clean and modern. Kitchen had everything you needed. Outside was terrific with a great deck and plenty of chairs for everyone. There were sand toys and life jackets. The kayaks were great fun. The dock was perfect. We even had a small beach to search for sea glass and even found a Petoskey stone. There were plenty of towels and paper products. Sarah was very responsive. She was very kind and understanding when one of the kayak paddles floated away. There was even a surprise bottle of wine and a very nice card and note when we arrived. The lake is beautiful at night with the moon shining on it. The large windows were wonderful for the view. Having a grill and nice table and umbrella to eat outside was great. We were near East Tawas if wanted to go into town All in all it was a perfect place to stay with everything we needed and very kind and generous owners. We would definitely stay again. Thank you.

Perfect beach vacation with the grandkids!
We reserved this beach home for a week with our 5 grandkids. It is very spacious, totally comfortable, and the beach is the kind of pristine Lake Huron beach that we have grown to love. We have always taken the kids some place different every summer, but after spending a week here, it just might make me rethink that idea. This was definitely the next best thing to home and felt like a real home away from home. The shallow, warm, Huron water just makes it better. In addition to swimming, kayaking the very calm morning and evening water was totally peaceful and relaxing.
