Gites Rue Du Chateau cottages are situated in a little haven of tranquillity, where you will be able to relax and feel at one with nature. The two and a half acres of walled garden and woodland offer plenty of space and includes a beautiful clear stream, running through an old lavoir, a lovely aboveground pool, 5m diameter, 1.2m deep. You will also have access to a mini Boules area, BBQ, hammocks, outside kitchen with inside and outside dining space and cosy fire pit area. There is plenty of space for relaxation and traditional garden games.
Every day you can wake up to the sound of birdsong, running water and the local church bells. Surprisingly peaceful, but within walking distance of bakeries, shops and a local market, you can choose to stay on site or venture out and take part in one of the many local activities on offer, including, canoeing, cycle paths, adventure parks, local lake activities or visit a Chateau and have a long lazy lunch.
The site is gated with secure parking.
Described in one of our reviews as, 'a beautiful place, with a fine balance between modern and ancient charm'.
Hosts Anna & Ian live on site to ensure a warm and friendly welcome and would be available should you need anything during your stay. You will occasionally see us maintaining the pool and grounds, entering and leaving the site via a shared driveway.

About the host
Hosted by Anna-Lisa Pedlow

an and I made the decision to change our lifestyle and relocate from Norfolk, England to France, in April 2022. and we are very much in the early days of establishing our home and holiday cottage rental business, in the historic town of Ruffec. I love live music and festivals and anything magical. I used to work in education, specifically in development of Early Years education. My partner, Ian, is a musician and we both worked in the public sector; together we have worked hard to use our past skills to build a beautiful and welcoming place for families and friends to spend time together.
Why they chose this property
Situated, in what we feel is a little haven of tranquillity we think we have a found a place where you will be able to relax and feel at one with nature. We currently have two cottages to offer on site, with direct access to outside eating space and a further one in development.
The site sits within two and half acres of walled gardens, woodland, an old Lavoir (former wash house) and Trout stream and there is plenty of space to offer areas for some privacy. You will have access to a lovely shallow splash pool, outside kitchen and dining terrace, boules court and fire pit area.
Every day you can wake up to the sound of birdsong, running water and church bells in the distance.
Surprising peaceful, but within walking distance of bakeries, shops and a local market, you can choose to stay on site or venture out and take part in one of the many local activities on offer, including, canoeing, cycle paths, adventure parks, local lake activities or visit a Chateau and have a long lazy lunch.
With further developments in the pipeline to include, games room and music in the Barn and overall improvements and other services we offer, we are very excited about the future.
