Town: Matfen is a Northumberland village 20 miles from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Matfen Village Store and Café, a welcoming spot to pick up self-catering essentials, and Matfen Black Bull, a delightful country local pub, are centred around the Matfen Burn. Just a few miles north is Hadrian's Wall, with a prehistoric standing stone, Stob Stone, nearby.
