About this property
Rubix Cube Mews, by Veeve
Pops of bold colour and a gallery's worth of vibrant art make this sparky, modern two-bedroom home a joyful little family retreat. Nestled on a quiet mews, you'll be just a stone's through from hip Shepard's Bush, with its irresistible retail options and eclectic eateries, whilst enjoying easy access to the city on the District, Hammersmith, and Central Lines. And if taking it slow is more your style, look no further — there's a private roof terrace just waiting for you to sit back with a good book, and an even better glass of wine...
Clean, white interiors and crisp, contemporary design supply the perfect canvas for eye-catching colours and a striking art pieces. The large, comfy living room is packed with pops of electric blue, from the impressive wall hangings to the plush sofa, and two pop-art themed footstalls, joining a sense of fun to the unabashedly cool aesthetic. Yet the overriding theme here is still comfort — whether you're relaxing in front of the TV, cosied up in the reading corner with a good book, or enjoying an alfresco meal under the parasol on the sun-drenched terrace. The bedrooms continue the comfy remit, along with a little dash of signature style — a slick, modern reworking of Klimt's showstopper in the adults' room, and some adorable children's décor in the bunk room. Upstairs you'll find a well-equipped kitchen (including a sought-after Kitchen Aid), with large glass doors letting the light flood in, and a handy indoor table — perfect for those less roof terrace-friendly days. And even then, with bright colours and playful design aplenty, there's always something to cheer you up.
We love...
The artwork, most definitely. If you'll excuse our layman's terms, we're particularly keen on the rather zany, textured piece by the front door, and the shimmery 3D swirl in the living room. It's all in the little things here, and we love how that even extends to the bathrooms — be it a mottled sea-green wall in the shower, or a jagged statement clock above the smooth freestanding bathtub. 10/10 for attention to detail.
Home Truths:
No smoking, pets or parties! This house is best suited to families with children under 15 years old, as the beds in the children's room can only manage a maximum of 90kg. There's that greatest of summer luxuries — air con — in the principal bedroom, living room, and kitchen. The living room includes a useful desk and office chair, a great spot for remote working. The spiral staircase down to the living room is a little on the steep side. One room (not pictured) on the ground floor will be locked for the host's use.

Why they chose this property
This neighbourhood is probably most famous for the shopping mecca that is Westfields. But long before the mega-mall was built – and even now just a stone’s throw away – there was the buzzing and vibrant Shepherd’s Bush Market, which has operated in the area for over 100 years and remains one of the most popular markets in the city. If you take a stroll down Uxbridge Road, you’ll find restaurants offering almost every cuisine in the world – or that’s what it seems like, anyway.
