We had a great stay. Our host was incredibly responsive and friendly. We could not have asked for a better location for our stay! Wonderful vacation at a wonderful location- we would definitely do it all over again.
Thank you to our fantastic hosts!!
This was a very easy property to rent. The house is beautiful and the owners are nice and easy to communicate with. We received a text with great places to eat, locations to see that were close, joking, etc.
There were 11 of us. The place was amazing. Beautifully decorated. The hosts were very quick to respond to any questions or concerns, very friendly and accommodating. A couple people felt intrusive in the personal space of the hosts but we all had a great time!!
Location was great, the space was perfect for our families, the communication with the owner was great as well. The outdoor space was awesome. A few reasons I gave only 3 stars. One was the AC was not working when we got there (it was in the 90's during our stay). The large windows have no blinds (no window have blinds) so it was really warm in the home. They were quick to get someone out there but since it wasn't discovered until we got to get into the home late afternoon it was too late for anyone to come service it. So it was really warm that evening and night and following afternoon. The basement wasn't too bad but there wasn't enough space for all of us to sleep down there. We were told that the HVAC people said the door was frozen so he couldn't even get inside it and so we needed to keep the system off for another day! We honestly were debating about finding a hotel. My husband and brother were able to get the door open by afternoon and ice was gone so we were able to turn the system on, but of course a house that size took a long time to cool down. The loft we basically could not use the whole time because it stayed warm up there. Also, no blinds on any windows so it was very bright in the early AM in the bedrooms, and I think it also made it difficult for the AC to catch up with the sun beating into the home. They also live there so there really isn't anywhere to unpack any of your stuff, especially freezer space. There was no space and they had 3 freezers. We barely could find room for 1 bag of ice and a few ice packs. The fridge was mostly empty but that was it. Overall, for the amount of money we paid, I expected more.
The house is large and private. Zach was very responsive to text messages throughout the entire trip.
The showers needed cleaned- we did not even use the downstairs shower because it needed cleaned. We also had to sweep the kitchen/dining area when we got there. There are no window coverings on any of the bedrooms which made it difficult for our children to sleep past 5:30 AM when the sun rose. There also was a strong cat urine smell in the stairway going up to the loft area.
Again, Zach was very responsive and easy to get a hold of but we were disappointed in the cleanliness of the home. We expected more for what we paid for our stay.
Perfect place to stay for any age! The location is perfect, the house is very well kept, and the view off the back deck is gorgeous!!! We highly recommend!
Beautiful, elegant artistic home! Very roomy and comfortable. Views were magnificent. Super location for all attractions. Watched the deer and wild turkeys from the deck. Wonderful vacation!!!
We stayed over a week and used it as a base to go visit all over the Black Hills and the Badlands. Really liked the location, just a couple of minutes outside Rapid City. Had the great views and a lot of space without the inconvenience of being remote. Everything in the listing was accurate. As we explored the area, we continued to realize that this house was the perfect spot for us (no rental or lodging envy as we saw the different places we could have stayed)!
A beautiful home in Rapid City away from all the hustle and bustle.
My family had a wonderful time staying at this property. It was a great place to come back to after being gone all day sight seeing and doing activities. Very peaceful and quiet. We usually played a few games of pool or sat in the hot tub before bed after a busy day of activities. It was my first time staying in a rental home that was also someone's full time home so it took a bit to get used to all the personal items thru out the house and made us feel like we were invading someone's privacy. We were only there in the mornings and at night time so it's definitely a good place to stay to come back to after a long day. The only thing I wish was different was there was some kind of window treatment in the master bedroom. The deck goes from the kitchen to the master and there is nothing to protect you while you are in the master bedroom. Also during the summer, the 5 a.m. sunrise will wake you right up, again there is no window treatment to close. On a positive note, lots of space and the hosts we very good at communicating with.
We had a wonderful stay at this home. Just outside of Rapid City, which makes it very accessible. We spent the daytime exploring Mount Rushmore area, rock climbing, and hiking at Sylvan Lake. Evenings at the home we’re nice and relaxing. Well stocked with everything you would need. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, and a nice hot tub. The decks have wonderful views and the home feels private. Attentive owners. We would stay here again!
We enjoyed this home for celebrating the holidays with our children. The home was decorated beautifully and accommodated us all as we played games, cooked, watched football, hot tubed and just enjoyed our family time. Only issue we had was with the road when it snowed, but the county took care of it. HappyNew Year 2020!
We had 5 couples riding motorcycles in the Black Hills. This home was perfect to relax during the evenings. We cooked most of our meals here in a nice kitchen and on their Blackstone on the deck. Many deer and wild turkeys entertaining us.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this amazing cabin. The rooms were nice and clean as described. Neighborhood was quiet and the view from the cabin was breathtaking. Thank you Tina and Zach.
This is a beautiful home that looks just like the photos. Comfortable, spacious, and had everything we needed. Our kids enjoyed the hot tub, pool table, and air hockey. Easy drive to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and the Badlands. And a great DVD selection for the night we were rained in! Great appliances in the house, too. Zach was great with communication and easy to work with. Thanks for a terrific stay!
Celebrated Our 50th Anniversary in this beautiful log home!
Our family of 10 enjoyed this beautiful log home during our vacation in the Black Hills. The location was a perfect base to be near all the attractions we wanted to visit.
We made breakfast each morning in the well stocked kitchen and the grandkids enjoyed the air hockey game. Thanks to Zach and Tina
It was a great stay! Beautiful cabin. The owners were excellent to work with.
