Nestling amidst open countryside in the picturesque hamlet of Thorns, just a few minutes’ walk from Hawes this Grade II Listed 16th Century farmhouse enjoys extensive views of the woods and fells of Upper Wensleydale in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Cottontail Cottage is accessed via a short farm road and oozes charm and character reminiscent of its era with many interesting features including oak beamed ceilings, flagstone floors, sneck doors and stone mullion windows. A truly delightful country retreat with wood burning stove and a welcoming ambience the cottage is full of atmosphere, complemented with a contrasting blend of quality furnishings to a very good standard where you can relax and enjoy a restful holiday. The secluded patio is ideal for relaxing after a day walking and touring the stunning Yorkshire Dales or for dining alfresco on warm sunny days. Excellent walks start from the door, with the Pennine Way passing close by. Hardraw Force (England’s highest unbroken waterfall) along with Aysgarth Falls is nearby or enjoy a leisurely drive across the "Buttertubs Pass" into beautiful Swaledale. Hawes has a good choice of shops, pubs, tea rooms, bistro, Ropemakers Centre along with the famous Wensleydale Creamery and Visitor Centre.
