The entrance at road level leads you into the Victorian hallway and into the spacious dining kitchen with feature fireplace, a super social area for all the party to enjoy and share in a hearty breakfast before you hit the fells or to create a special dinner in the evening. And if the weather is typically ‘Lakeland’, a great selection of books, DVDs and board games and yes, that all important Wi-Fi access is provided. Location is great, very near lake, ferry and bar/restaurants. However house could have been cleaner, was very cold in the “basement”. The description wasn’t quite accurate - said there were games, Wii and dvd but there wasn’t any and when you have 8 people in a house 8 mugs wasn’t enough - same with some cutlery. Also there was no room in kitchen to store food - we had to move other stuff around to free up space. Was good they catered for kids tho with plastic spoons and plates etc all appreciated and there was also a cot and high chair etc. for a house for 8 people parking for only 1 car is less than ideal as most people would have more than one car. House could have been cleaner - typified by downstairs light fitting having 5-6 dead flies in it - just not a good first impression - a couple of deep cleans a year would pick that sort of stuff up. Overall tho the location and weather meant that the slight failings of the house didn’t affect what was a great holiday. Would go to this house again if above points were rectified.
