About this property

3 BR Cabin Surrounded by Pines on Fishing/Swimming Lake

Three bedroom cabin with a sleeper sofa in the living area and a bathroom with shower. The first bedroom contains a queen bed, second has a full bed, and the third has single bunk beds. The living area and main bedroom have sliding glass patio doors with access to a large deck where you can relax and look out on the beautiful serene West Crooked Lake. Sleeps up to 6 people in beds, maximum of 8.

The cabin has a deck, picnic table, charcoal grill, lawn chairs, TV/DVD, A/C, and comes with a fully equipped kitchen that includes a microwave, stove, oven, coffee maker, and all the accompanying dishes, pots and pans, and utensils. We provide bed linens and towels. We supply toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, and hand soap. This is a non-smoking cabin. One dock slip is included with the cabin for the fishermen in the group. We have a pontoon and fishing boats to rent if you don't have your own but want to fish or tour beautiful West Crooked Lake. West Crooked Lake Resort, nestled along 400 feet of lakeshore, is a family-friendly resort located in the Paul Bunyan State Forest, surrounded by towering pines situated on the northeast shore of West Crooked Lake. Located in a quiet wooded area, the cabins sit on spacious grounds overlooking a secluded, beautiful lake. While our location is quiet and serene, we are only 15 miles NE of Park Rapids, MN and 15 miles SW of Walker, MN, where opportunities for shopping, dining, and recreation are plentiful. We provide activities on the resort for everyone. West Crooked Lake Resort offers relaxation and enjoyment for the entire family. You can enjoy sun bathing on the sandy beach, swimming in the clear water, playing on the Rave Water Park, or reading a book in the shade. Listen to the loons calling, watch eagles soar overhead, glide through the clear waters in a canoe or paddleboat, or just bring a book, relax, and catch some rays on the sandy beach. For the fishermen, West Crooked Lake hosts a large variety of fish including Walleye, Northern, Bass, Perch, Crappie and Sunfish. Many area attractions are just minutes from the resort. Biking/walking trails, golf courses, casinos, a fun park, a local winery (tours available), horseback riding, shopping and restaurants, and the Headwaters of the Mississippi in Itasca State Park are just a few of the attractions you will find.

Quiet for fall colors
October was a great time of year to visit if you are looking for a quiet spot! Seems very family friendly for summer. Lots to do at the resort, and easy to access nearby towns and state parks.

Mini Getaway
We stayed Sunday thru Wednesday for a much needed mini getaway. We originally were scheduled to stay in May, but due to unexpected health issues had to change plans. We were well past our time for changing/refunds. Susan was more than accommodating and allowed us to reschedule for this past week. Due to a mix up on my part about dates they allowed us to stay in one of the RV's for one night until our cabin was available the next day. The grounds were beautiful and well kept - the view of the lake from the deck was awesome. We had the resort almost to ourselves - only one other couple next door. It was early in the week and school has already started so it was like having our own resort! The cabins are equipped with everything you might need - down to the cheese grater! Could have baked a cake if I wanted too (didn't!).The beds were comfy and the whole cabin was spotless. Would highly recommend for longer stays and the needed mini getaway. We will be back!!!!!

Good family cabin
Great small resort! Cabin was well stocked with an amazing lake view. It was a little snug for our family of 5, but that’s ok as we were outside most of the time. I did wish the queen bed was in the ‘front’ bedroom with the slider rather than the full bed. Our 11 yr old got the best room for sure! Overall a nice stay.

Cozy and relaxing
Perfect place for a family getaway. Lots to do on the premises and nearby area. The cabin was clean and cozy. I had a family of six plus a dog and it was just fine. Pontoon rental was super easy and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend and go back.

West Crooked Lake
The cabin itself was really nice if not a little small. They say it can sleep eight, but you would be sleeping on top of each other. The bunk bed room we stayed in was for sleeping only. That being said, the resort was very nice and the lake was really great, we fished and caught big northern and bass. It was really fun and Jim and Marianne were super nice and accommodating. Overall good trip!

Absolutely perfect stay!
This property was perfect - I honestly cannot wait to return! Every little detail was thought of - I couldn't believe all the little things in the cabin that were included to make the stay as comfortable as possible. A fully stocked kitchen with all the necessities (and then some)! A first aid kit in the bathroom, charcoal and lighter fluid, bug bombs, saran wrap, chip clips, garbage bags. Plus Marianne stopped by daily to see if we needed anything. The resort itself was perfection. All the activities that were free of charge - my goodness! We kayaked, canoed, played on the trampoline - went stand up paddle boarding, and used the paddle boat. Not to mention the laughs and fun on the lily pad! There were also tons of floaties for us to use - and the kids played in the sand with all the toys included. We also rented the pontoon - the lake itself is smaller, but that means there were hardly any boats, so it's delightfully quiet! Sadly my mom had some physical limitations that didn't allow us to use the pontoon more than once, but it was in wonderful shape and ran perfectly. This resort is truly a special place - thank you so much for an amazing experience!

Cozy, Great water activities for children
Small and cozy Kitchen is a one person kitchen This is a 5 cabin resort atmosphere, which was not clear from the vrbo booking. Shared outdoor space, including the firepit area. Great little sandy beach. Fishing was not great on the lake in July 2018.

The Perfect Lake Vacation
We loved our stay at the West Crooked Lake Resort. The grounds were clean; the cabin was perfect - clean, well stocked with a woman's touch. The beds were very comfortable. Susan has done an amazing job with this resort. She even had a welcome basket with local wine (which was excellent), chocolates, chips, cheese, crackers and wine glasses. Other than the cleanliness of the grounds and cabin, I truly enjoyed the peace and quiet. Everyone was so respectful of everyone else. They have boats for rent, a pontoon, kayaks and paddleboards. I actually got up on the paddleboard for the first time. The lake is clear and clean. There is an eagle’s nest on the lake and I was so fortunate to experience a bald eagle in the wild fly over me (several times). Then there were the loons calling in the morning and evening. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I HIGHLY recommend this for a peaceful and fun vacation on the water. Thank you so much Susan for making our stay so perfect.
