About this property

Rose Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4

Situated in the popular village of Youlgreave, Rose Cottage is a stunning property that has been beautifully renovated and finished to a very high standard. The well-equipped kitchen, crisp linen on the comfortable beds and the inviting log burning stove in the original beamed lounge make this a really great place for friends and family to enjoy. Take a stroll down to Bradford Dale where you can often spot kingfishers and dippers diving into the river, or take advantage of one of the other spectacular walks available from the doorstep.
Centrally located in the village, the cottage is just a stone’s throw away from the wonderful church, cute little village stores and three fantastic pubs, which all cater for a variety of different tastes. Further afield, you may want to hop in the car and explore the famous Chatsworth House, historic Haddon Hall or sample Bakewell’s famous pudding, all just a five-minute drive away. Or for the more adventurous types, why not take a ride on a steam train in Matlock, splash around in Carsington Water, or take a cycle ride along the High Peak Trail.
After a hard day exploring, take advantage of the secluded garden and enjoy an evening under the stars with your favourite tipple.

A fabulous weekend break
Rose Cottage has everything to make a few days away a comfortable step off the wheel. On a strangely warm November weekend, we nevertheless used the wood burning stove which added to the charm. Within one minute's walk, the Post office and (separately) the Village Stores were wonderfully stocked and open on Sunday to help. As first timers, a booklet of local walks left on one of the shelves accelerated our understanding of Youlgreave/Youlgrave in minutes, and our growing love for the neighbourhood as we set off. Inside the cottage, as was cosy provision. The village could not be better situated for a whole host of things to do. A brilliant bolt hole for a beatiful stay. Thank you.
