The condo was advertised as sleeping 8 people. The pictures showed that there were 2 beds in one of the rooms, so we knew the unit had enough beds to prevent anyone from having to sleep on the floor or couch. The unit was apparently purchased by a new owner after we booked it, and the new owner removed a bed from one of the rooms, thereby making the sleeping capacity 6 people. (we had 7 in our group) Our notification of the reduced sleeping capacity was by email, only 8 days before our arrival and less than the 30 day cancellation window for the booking. To make matters worse, we didn’t see the email until the day before leaving for our trip. When we questioned the property manager, they admitted the new owners removed a bed. The property managers attempted “Fix” to the situation was to offer us 4 different properties for the same price we paid, all of which were not waterfront and were between 300-400 per night less than the property we booked. We ended up having to have person sleep on the couch all week (not a pullout). The entire situation was awful. How is it possible that someone can completely change the parameters of a booking a week before arrival and receive the same booking price? We booked a property advertised to sleep 8, and it only slept 6.
