About this property
Pass the Keys | Cosy cottage with views over the Shropshire hills
About this space
Take a break and unwind at this peaceful ..... Richards Castle is on the border of Shropshire and Herefordshire, close enough to the market town of Ludlow to enjoy the lively community feel, busy markets, events and festivals that are held throughout the year. But set surrounded by the beautiful countryside of south Shropshire and the Welsh Marches. It is an excellent base for walking, cycling, as well as exploring the rest of Shropshire. Or just sitting, relaxing, taking in the stunning views
The space
Downstairs you come into the cottage via the open plan conservatory/kitchen. This is a great space to sit, relax and take in the views. Through to the lounge for the colder months, we have a log burner, which you are welcome to use.
The bathroom is downstairs with a shower over the bath.
Upstairs there are two small double bedrooms.
There is an enclosed garden to enjoy in the warmer months.
From the property, there are many walks including the Shropshire Way and cycle routes to enjoy. We are also within easy reach of National Trust Parks including Croft Castle and Parkland and Berrington Hall.
Other things to note
The house is small but is set in such a peaceful, beautiful location.
We do accept well-behaved dogs downstairs for £20 each.
Supermarkets
Post office stores in next village approx. 1.5 miles. Wide range of excellent shops and supermarkets in Ludlow (approx.3 miles)
Local Restaurants
In the village, we have The Castle Inn a small village pub. The Maidenhead (Bakers Arms) has a nice outside area. Ludlow has many pubs, bars and cafes to suit all tastes. With the market on a Saturday selling local produce.
Local Attractions
Two beautiful National Trust Houses - Croft Castle and Berrington Hall just a few miles away. The Mortimer forest - just over a mile - is extensive and excellent walking country - especially for dogs. English Heritage sites Stokesay Castle, Wigmore Castle and Witley Court all within a short drive. Also close by are the Carding Mill Valley, the Herefordshire black and white villages. The Brecon Beacons are a short drive and Hay on Wye is easily reached.
Buses
Buses go through the village to Ludlow and Leominster and onwards to Hereford
Key Selling Points
Located on the Shropshire Way. Fine rural views. Victorian cottage. Conservatory. Cosy siting room with log burner. Enclosed private garden with garden furniture. Very suitable for dogs with good local walks.
Other things to note
We are more than happy for you to bring your furry friends with you. We ask that they stay downstairs and at a cost of £20.00. Please be aware our home is small and is suitable for one big dog or two small dogs.
