Below you will find some information about the artist who lived in the house, Mario Menicucci, most of the paintings in the property were painted by him.
Born in 1937 Mario Menicucci began in his twenties to express his love for painting. His first paintings are figurative ones that immortalize glimpses of the city, of the towns of the Garfagnana and of Viareggio coast. Over time, the brushstrokes become more and more charged with his emotionality and personality and his paintings gradually arrive at an expressionist style that will then flow into pure abstractionism. Together with his artist friends Antonio Possenti, Gaetano Luporini and Riccardo Benvenuti formed an entourage that was the most vivid expression of the Lucca creativity of the fifties and sixties. His paintings have been exhibited in various exhibition galleries, local competitions in Tuscany, and at the Galleria Nazionale in Rome.
