Everything in this cottage is finished to an exceptionally high standard, with careful attention to detail, from the tiered garden complete with a wood-fired hot tub, to the sumptuous and meticulously appointed bedrooms each with its own en-suite shower room, everything here is crafted to delight and inspire. This detached cottage has a side patio as well as a raised enclosed garden area at the rear so that you can chase the sun throughout the day. Out here you can enjoy a barbecue or slip beneath the heated water in your own hot tub. All year round you can look forward to soaking beneath the tendrils of rising steam, whist flames heat the water to your desired temperature, and the hot tub can also be heated ready for your arrival, by prior arrangement and at cost payable directly to the owner.
Built in traditional local sandstone, the remains of a 200 year old cottage have been brought back to life when the owners lovingly rebuilt it in 2022. Stepping inside on the ground floor you have a spacious open plan living area, bathed in light from glass doors on both sides. The integrated kitchen boasts an island with a breakfast bar. There is a dining table where you can all enjoy meals together, as well as a large corner sofa in front of the wood burner. On the ground floor you have the first bedroom, with zip and link single beds which can be made up as a super kingsize on request. Every bedroom has a built in wardrobe, dressing table and a TV, the ground floor bedroom has an en-suite rainforest shower. Upstairs you have a king bedroom with an en-suite shower room, as well as the spacious master bedroom which boasts a super kingsize bed as well as a bathroom with both a freestanding bath and a walk in shower.
Here at Forge Cottage you can relax and re-charge or you can have an adventure with lots of outdoor activities as well as beautiful and historic places to visit. Scaling Dam Reservoir is opposite, with water sports including paddle-boarding, kayaking, wake-boarding, sailing, open water swimming and fishing. Just steps away, you have a welcoming family friendly pub, complete with an outdoor play area and mini golf, which also serves freshly prepared local food. Situated on the main road leading over the moorland to the coast, you are less than a 20-minute drive from the coastal towns and villages of Whitby, Staithes, Runswick Bay and Saltburn, all ideal for days out. With golden beaches, quaint harbours and incredible scenery to discover. You also have the vast North York Moors National Park surrounding you, with walking and cycle trails to explore. This is a wonderful destination all year round. There is storage nearby in a locked large shed perfect for paddleboards, bikes, motorbikes or even boats by prior arrangement with the owner. Beach 5½ mile.
