An Cala Beag (The Little Haven) is a ground floor self-catering apartment for two adults in a stunning location, tucked away off the road, attached to the main house but with its own separate entrance on the beautiful Waternish peninsula, Isle of Skye. It has spectacular views from the large picture window across to the beautiful islands of Clett, Mingay and Isay in Lochbay and across the Minch to the Outer Hebrides. It is also the perfect vantage point for watching the majestic white tailed and golden eagles and porpoises in the bay.
Waternish has been designated a Dark Sky location; it is renowned for its sunsets, clear skies and if you are lucky the Aurora Borealis. Also perfect for wildlife and bird lovers, photography, walking, cycling and wildlife cruises. Within close driving distance of art galleries and the 5 star Tannery, Skyeskyns.
The apartment is very cosy; has an open plan lounge, kitchen and dining area. There is a separate bedroom with an en-suite shower room.
The lounge area has two comfy leather chairs, a flame effect electric fire, flat screen TV with FreeSat, & DVD player. Books, films, magazines, maps and games are at hand if you tire of the ever changing “picture” outside.
With High Speed Fibre to the Premises(FTTP) internet and free WiFi this is an ideal location for anyone needing to work.
The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of cupboard space, full size oven with ceramic hob, microwave and fridge with small freezer compartment. Please note there is no washing machine in the apartment but we would be happy to wash anything for you.
There is a small dining table and chairs at which to enjoy your romantic meals in comfort.
The separate bedroom has a brand new pocket sprung memory foam bed, feather and down king size duvet (non-allergic) and pillows. Together with the 300 thread count cotton bedding this should ensure a great night’s sleep
The en-suite shower room has a quadrant shower cubicle, w.c. and wash basin. There is a heated mirror complete with shaving point and also a heated towel radiator. Towels are provided.
In front of the apartment there is an outside seating area with two chairs and a small table.
A porch provides space for muddy boots and coats. Parking is to the side of the property.
Five minutes drive to the oldest Inn on Skye - "Stein Inn" and Michael Smith's Michelin Starred, "Lochbay Restaurant". The village of Dunvegan with a village store, greengrocers, bakery, garage, pubs and cafes is 15 minutes drive with the main town, Portree, approx. 30 minutes away. The iconic Talisker Distillery is 40 minutes by car.
