In the beautiful village of Commondale in the North York Moors National Park you have the characterful Old Schoolhouse, which once homed the village schoolteacher.. All on the First Floor:

Kitchen area: Electric Cooker, Microwave, Fridge/Freezer
Bedroom: Double (4ft 6in) Bed Ensuite: Cubicle Shower, Toilet. Electric central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer (shared with property other properties on-site).. Garden with sitting-out-area (shared with other properties on-site). 1 dog welcome, to be kept on a lead at all times (sheep country). Private parking for 1 car. No smoking.. This distinctive red brick building has been lovingly converted into four holiday apartments, ideally located for those looking to discover the surrounding countryside. The Grosmont Apartment is on the first floor and is ideal for couples looking for a memorable romantic break in the country. You access the apartment via the communal hallway and up the stairs. The layout of the apartment is all on one level. and at the front of the apartment you have the open plan living area, with a dining table in the window where you have elevated views over the village and the surrounding moorland. There is also a comfortable sofa in front of the electric fire. The kitchen is well equipped, with everything required to create home made meals to enjoy together. The double bedroom is spacious and bright, with plenty of storage in the large built-in wardrobes, and there is an adjoining en-suite shower room with a large walk in power shower.
At the front of the Old Schoolhouse there is a small communal enclosed garden with a bench, where you can enjoy a morning cup of tea whilst soaking up the views over the surrounding moorland. The owners live next door in the neighbouring converted school, and the playground is now the parking bays.
Commondale is a picturesque village, typical in the North York Moors National Park. The heart of the village has a friendly local pub, serving great food and is only yards away, so you can enjoy a tipple or two in the evening in good company before the short walk home.
The Esk Valley train which travels between Middlesbrough and Whitby stops at Commondale station which is just 15 minutes walk from The Old Schoolhouse. Although the service is limited, this is an excellent way to travel to Whitby, or to Grosmont to pick up the North York Moors Railway. This is a great choice of destination for walkers, as there is a vast array of walking trails nearby, and you are less than a 30 minute drive away from the coast, where you have Staithes, Whitby, Runswick Bay, Saltburn and Robin Hood’s Bay – all ideal for a memorable day out. Your dog is sure to have the adventure of a lifetime exploring the coast and country, plus many pubs and cafés are dog friendly in this area.
Grosmont Apartment can be booked together with Whitby Apartment (UK35822), York Apartment (UK35824) and Farndale Apartment (UK35825) to accommodate up to 12 guests.
