Great fortnight at Mavi Ev
We were delighted we chose Kalkan and Mavi Ev for this year's family holiday. The villa had loads of space - I don't think we once used the lounge because we spent all of our time downstairs around the pool - and had a really nice welcoming feel.
Unlike many of the other nearby villas, Mavi Ev has a decent sized outside area with mature olive and lime trees so it was a great place to relax and enjoy alfresco dining. The property exudes a homeliness with personal touches that maybe some of the neighbouring villas lack.
Simon, the owner, and Mehmet, the manager, were on hand to assist and offer advice and we were really pleased to be able to check in early on the first day and out late on the last day which, effectively, gave us two additional days holiday.
Kalkan's fantastic. The town centre's full of life and while adapted to a range of overseas visitors retains a sense of authentic Turkey. Just beware the villas are built on a steep hillside, so while the walk from Mavi Ev to the shops and restaurants is fine going down you might want to budget 150tl (£4ish) for a taxi back home!
