About this property
Cosy cottage for 2 in central Arundel
Nestled in a peaceful courtyard in the heart of historic Arundel, Gable End Cottage offers a charming retreat perfect for couples or solo travellers seeking a relaxing break. This cosy self-catering holiday home provides an ideal base for exploring the town’s rich heritage, stunning natural surroundings, and the South Downs National Park; whether for a romantic getaway, a seasonal escape or a peaceful base when working away from home.
Located just off Surrey Street at the end of Tarrant Street, the cottage exudes charm and practicality. Upstairs, a bright and thoughtfully designed open-plan kitchen and living area awaits, with a vaulted ceiling adding to the sense of space and light. The kitchen is equipped with an under-counter fridge, oven, hob, and microwave, while the living area features a comfortable sofa, TV, and dining table, making it the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring. Please note that the cottage does not have a dishwasher or washing machine, and the mezzanine is reserved for storage.
On the ground floor there is an attractive bedroom with king-size bed and an elegant shower room. For winter guests, the bathroom has its own fan heater, in addition to the general heating, to ensure it remains cosy during colder months.
Outside the cottage, a delightful seating area with a bistro table, chairs, and vibrant potted plants offers a tranquil spot to soak up the afternoon sunshine. While the cottage does not have private parking, unrestricted on-street parking is available nearby. For those seeking a car-free holiday, the train station is conveniently close, and Arundel’s many attractions are just a short stroll away.
Gable End Cottage is pet-friendly and welcomes one small, well-behaved dog per booking for an additional fee of £27.50 for stays of 3-7 days, with the same fee applying to each subsequent week. We kindly ask that pets are not allowed on furniture and are not left unattended in the property.
Arundel itself is a treasure trove of delights, offering something special for every season. Spring and summer visitors can enjoy Arundel Castle and its beautiful gardens, as well as the heated outdoor pool at Arundel Lido. Autumn and winter bring their own charm, with cosy pubs and scenic walks through the changing landscapes of Arundel Park and the South Downs. The town boasts a vibrant mix of independent shops, cafes, and restaurants.
For nature lovers, the Arundel Wetlands Centre and picturesque river walks provide opportunities to reconnect with the outdoors. The surrounding countryside offers incredible hiking trails, and the South Downs National Park is right on your doorstep. Beach lovers will appreciate the proximity of West Beach and Climping, while the famous sandy shores of West Wittering are just a short drive away.
Book your stay and experience the magic of Arundel for yourself.
