Perfect location for beach, restaurants, shopping. Walking distance to boardwalk. Love my annual visits to CB. The cottage is exactly as described. Angela is always very responsive if any issues arise.
Have stayed here multiple times. Always clean upon arrival. Check in with code. Exactly as advertised. Location is great. One street over from beach access. Walking distance to lake, boardwalk, and downtown. Response from owner is always great. Any issues are always taken care of very quickly.
This was our third year staying at this property, and it is just perfect for our family. The location is so convenient for families. We enjoyed walking over to the fair for our kids to ride the kiddie rides, visit the candy store, and grab donuts. We loved watching fireworks off the front porch on Thursday night. The outdoor, heated shower makes rinsing sand off kiddos too easy! Thank you for another great year!
House is very roomy.
Loved the front porch & especially the outside seating area.
So close to beach, board walk, restaurants & cafes.
Had a great time will definitely stay here again.
Loved this house. It had everything we needed. Location is perfect!! We walked to boardwalk almost every night. My teens loved that everything was so close. They could walk around each day to get food or go to the boardwalk. We will definitely be making this our new place to stay at Carolina beach.
Needs quality control; would never stay here again despite great location.
We selected this spot because of the good reviews and proximity to all the things we love. We knew it had a rustic vibe, but it appeared clean online. Just one trip to the bathroom gave me pause- the shower curtain had black mold all along the bottom. I messaged the property manager/owner who was responsive and brought by a new curtain. However, this was an accumulation of mold from a LONG time, not just one visit as she seemed to suggest by saying the cleaning folks should have noticed it.
I always like to be fair and give the owner the chance to fix things so I generally let them know about anything (like the shower curtain). However, it soon became obvious that if we messaged her every time we noticed something askew, we would be giving her a laundry list. Most beach houses we have been sad to leave at the week's end, but this beach house we could not WAIT to leave.
PROs:
- proximity to beach
- easy access using key pad
- corn hole and darts downstairs were fun
- when we reached out to the owner about the mold on the shower curtain, she was responsive
CONs:
- bugs-- a roach crawled on my husband when he was laying on the couch and if you left any crumbs behind from any food, ANTS soon congregated.
- old, hard couches
- twin bed held together with zip ties
- not a lot of kitchen tools for fun beach meals or drinks
- sheets available for use were in a dirty unlined drawer
- glitchy coffee maker
- restriction on air temp -- many nights we were too hot to sleep
We really enjoyed our visit to Carolina Beach. We were a very short walk to public beach entrance. Deck was where we spent a lot of our time. We watched the fireworks from the deck. Kate’s Pancakes was very good. Island burger was good food…Britt’s is amazing…the rest of the food we had was average at best. If you are looking for a beach place with old beach vibes and feels…this is your place!
This is our second year staying here, and my husband and I both agree we will never stay anywhere else in Carolina Beach! This property is so perfect for families -- the convenient walk to stores, restaurants, boardwalk, coffee/ice cream shops, amusement rides, and the beach just can't be beat. The front porch and outdoor living space downstairs is so great for hanging out. Like last year, the real MVP is the outdoor(heated AND enclosed) shower. It's just too easy to bring sandy/salty kids in from the beach and shower them off outside! The icing on the cake is that the property is dog friendly and has 3 bedrooms -- plenty of room for us to spread out. We are already looking forward to next year!
Property was expected as far as stilted classic CB styling. It was very spacious for our group of 7 (4A/3K), and lots to do. Stairs to the downstairs washer/dryer & gear den from inside upstairs are imo a little dangerous. they are completely sturdy but the treads are very narrow and steep.
They do have a good system if kept up with screen hooks and a lock, but with little ones beware and be diligent.
Great downstairs outside area! Great big backyard!
There are some uncontrollables....construction directly across the street early was less than ideal as well as a large multi use project to the right that is material-staged yep right in front of the porch.
Saying that lots of upstide too!-----not enough games stuff inventory info(unless i missed it).....to the good end though...they have cornhole, lawn darts, darts, sailor hook, backgammon/checkers/chinese chex, etc, boogie boards, a new blender %), and more.
Beach isn't visible, but super-close. all the rides, food, BRITT'S, is all as well.
i recommend the Turtle Rescue also down by Ft Fisher.
Very cool all!!
The house is located in very close walking distance to beach access, restaurants, activities, and a park, and within close driving or biking distance to grocery stores and Carolina Beach State park. The house was clean and well maintained upon arrival. It is nicely furnished, with an adequate kitchen, and nice outdoor spaces.
We have been going to Carolina Beach every summer for the past few years, but we had yet to find “the house” that we wanted to return to. I can happily say we found it! This house had everything for our family — two adults, two children under 5, and our dog. You can’t beat the location. The boardwalk is so close, we walked over at least once a day for coffee and for our kids to ride the kiddie rides at the carnival. There are tons of restaurants around within walking distance! We especially enjoyed the Veggie Wagon on the lake and Squiggley’s ice cream. The house had everything we needed for the beach — chairs, toys, umbrella, and a fantastic beach wagon to load it all up on. The real MVP of the weekend was the outdoor enclosed shower with hot water! My kids and I showered only in the outdoor shower the entire week. It was just too easy to come in from the beach and get all the sand off! We are so thankful this was a pet friendly home, and we can’t wait to come back next year!
Interior of home is well displayed in photos. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well stocked. Granddaughters enjoyed the amusement park within walking distance and fireworks on the beach.
We had a great time in Carolina Beach, it’s our favorite beach. We’ve been regulars for the last 6 or 7 years. You can’t beat the location of this home, especially if you’re looking to save money and the hassle of parking. The home was nice and well equipped. We didn’t need anything. The couches in the living room probably need new cushions, the vinyl was peeling and we felt they were uncomfortable. But they were neat old vintage couches, very solid. The air conditioning never really got cool except for two nights, the rest of the time it stayed around 75 degrees or above. The homeowner did send an ac repair guy but we didn’t really notice any improvement after he left. However, we appreciated the effort. These things are minor and I would definitely stay here again. I would probably just make sure to bring a fan or 2 next time. The home has its quirks being older, but it has a lot of charm. My tween son especially loved the hammock on the porch and playing the guitar that was left in the living room. Our dog really loved sitting on the porch and watching the people walk by. We all loved being able to walk to Squiglies for ice cream in the evenings. The boardwalk is also right across a street and a parking lot. You can walk to just about anywhere downtown. The view of the fireworks from the front porch was great. For the price, you really can’t beat this rental. I definitely recommend it.
Great beach cottage - perfect location for family fun! We enjoyed everyday at beach. Old school beach cottage was a great way to relax with our teens. Entertainment, shops and local restaurants all walking or short driving distance. Set up your beach chairs early in the morning, walk the beach then when kids wake up - off to the beach for all day fun! Owner was available via text if needed and was great to rent from. We loved our old school family beach cottage vacay!
Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay. The house was perfect and the fireworks on the boardwalk from the porch were A+

We purchased this vintage cottage after hurrican Fran. The cottage is actually from Wrightsville Beach. The grandchildren of the original owners wanted a much larger beach house after the storm and so sold the cottage. We loved the old cottage vibe, so bought it and had it moved to its current location, which had lost its 1960s cottage in the hurricane. We have tried hard to keep updates in line with the cottage feel.
Why they chose this property
We chose this as a family friendly location. My children were small at the time, and it was a perfect weekend get-away- steps away from the beach and with plenty of activities to keep the children entertained, even on rainy days. So many family and friends were able to enjoy a stay with us. As the children grew older and got other committments, we decided to rent it out. The lot itself is semi-historic. A very old gentleman once told me that the "Yankee Line" cut diagonally across the backyard, that's why the back portion of is still sunken. Sure enough, when I was at the Ft. Fisher museum, I saw on the map there that the yankees dug trenches on our property for the landing and assualt on Ft. Fisher.
What makes this property unique
The cottage catches ocean breezes, and the outdoor areas are spacious and comfortable. The cottage is located within walking distance to so much that you can just park your car and not need to use it again.
