About this property
Castle Cliffe. Victorian House in spectacular position.
A large Victorian house situated right in the very heart of the Peak District National Park with stunning views and walks in all directions. If you want to see the National Park at its best this is the place for you.
Superbly equipped with space to relax and unwind, both indoors and out, guests love the house and many return annually to their “home from home”. There are nine good sized bedrooms spread over two floors with flexible arrangements to suit the needs of most groups. Seven of the rooms are fully en-suite with the remaining two sharing a generous bathroom. Towels and bed linen are provided. A cot and high chair are also available.
A double through lounge with a log burner and ample seating for all; a TV room / snug with an open fire plus a dining room with a table to comfortably seat a party of 22. There is a large kitchen with both a gas fired Aga and a conventional cooker. A laundry and cloakroom complete the communal areas.
Directly outside the back door is an attractive walled garden plus a patio area with tables, chairs and a BBQ for al fresco dining. Beyond lies an extensive paddock / play area where kids (and adults) can let off steam in safety. There is parking for a dozen cars.
Two great pubs within easy walking distance.

About the host
Hosted by Neil and Jackie Mantell.
Neil is a former rugby player who once toured with England in Australia but is now reaping the reward of all those body crunching tackles. Jackie is a would be tennis star but who realises that at her age she has probably missed the boat! They both lived at Castle Cliffe with their family and ran it as a bed and breakfast for 13 years before converting their home to a holiday let in 2014.
Why they chose this property
Castle Cliffe arguably has THE best position for anyone wanting to get a true flavour of the Peak District. The house is surrounded by fabulous scenery but, at the same time, is close to all the famous attractions of Chatsworth, Haddon Hall, the caves at Castletown, and the market town of Bakewell. Pubs and picturesque villages are within easy walking distance and the famous Monsal trail, ideal for cyclists of all abilities, is literally on our doorstep.
What makes this property unique
Good quality fixtures and fittings and great attention to detail from experienced hosts who truly wish to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The number of repeat bookings pays testament to a high level of guest satisfaction. Everything has been considered, from the home cooked brownies to the hand picked flowers. You will not be disappointed.
