Inverness Holiday House

This house suited our needs as a family of 8 travelling. Bedrooms and bathrooms were good. Our negatives were the lounge room which only had 1 lounge which 3 people could sit on, even though there is plenty of room for another lounge, and a TV in that room would have been good. The dining table only had 6 chairs, when the house sleeps 10. The host was attentive when we had a problem.

Beware

Other than location, almost everything else about this property was unacceptable. Starting with security, the lock on the back sliding door did not work. Second, the property was not clean. Carpet hadn’t been vacuumed, cobwebs on the wall, and dirty dishes in cabinets. Parking was also an issue. Instead of having a parking permit provided to enable tenants to park in front of the house, we were told to park in an area in the back which was not big enough for one vehicle let alone the two vehicles that we had. It forced us to park one vehicle in the street, subjecting us to a parking ticket. Fortunately, we didn’t get one. Finally, just some general misrepresentations in the online description. “TV in lounge” - unsure what is considered the lounge, but no tv’s outside bedrooms. Of the tv’s in the bedrooms, one did not work and another was in the recessed corner of the room that made it practically unusable. “Completely renovated “ - might have been some upgrades recently done but still a lot of work that needs to be done (water stains, paint, etc). Online pictures made property look newer, cleaner and better than it was actually.

Dilapidated Filthy Property

Filthy, black mould through out; a derelict mattress, sofa; mop, drying rack and bucket left in the kitchen, drapes unable to be hung, filthy kitchen, pungent odour throughout, yard unkept and overgrown. Owner pledged to refund.

Good place but needs more maintainence

This property offers five bedrooms, each equipped with locks. While the front and back garden areas are currently unmaintained, the location is in the heart of the city. With thorough cleaning and detailed upkeep, this could easily become a 5-star property.

just okay in inverness

It was just okay stay. The pictures didn't clearly tell the story. Looked newer in the photos. No TV or sitting room to relax. Rooms were okay. It is a good location to the city center. That was nice. We simply wanted a better kitchen and sitting area. We did appreciate the communication with the property manager. Very attentive, which was nice.

Family of 9

Check in was not easy. We didn't receive any instructions prior to arrival. Had to call customer support for entry access and then was sent an email with further instructions. Still never received detailed instructions for operating some of the amenities. Once inside, the house was spacious and very comfortable for our large group. We enjoyed the outdoor patio area and the bakery at the end of the road. The cons: The living room is small and lacks a TV. The larger bedroom upstairs TV is in a recessed corner and not visible. Bedroom doors lock every time they close. This was frustrating for the children.

Needs some TLC

The property could be a five star with the location and rooms, but could definitely use some maintenance and furnishings so it could feel more comfortable. But did have a washer and dryer and the contact was very responsive.

Inverness stay

Lots of security. Parking information needs to be provided for the check in process. Some updating is needed in the family room area. Felt like a fraternity house. Host was very responsive.

Wonderful Property - Easy Walk into Inverness

Beautiful home in a nice neighborhood a short walk across the river into the heart of Inverness. We explored all over the Highlands from here and enjoyed the conveniences of a home for our stay.

We found the front door lock to be a bit shoddy and hard to deal with. Otherwise a great place to stay.
