Loved being on the canal. Could watch the boats and walkers from the private patio. Full kitchen if you like to cook. Bedrooms were nice sized and great beds. We loved the location for walking around town. Very quiet.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - fantastic sun room overlooking the canal where we spent most of our time watching the world go by. Lots to do in the area - highly recommend a stay here.
Great location, super cute cottage just outside of the Royal Welsh Show area but easy to travel backwards and forwards to on a daily basis. We loved our stay, thank you
Loved every minute of our stay here! Waking up and feeding the ducks with my kids every morning, having coffee in the sunroom, fly fishing from the backyard, so many great memories. Location is perfect, cottage is modern and bright with everything you need and Helen the owner is so nice and helpful. Will be back!!!
Comfortable, spotlessly clean, well located. Lovely situation beside canal with waterside garden. Parking quite tricky in very narrow street but we managed to park within 100 yards. We would happily return.
We loved staying here right on the Canal in Brecon. It was very central for everything we needed to do. The view from the conservatory onto the canal was a huge bonus.
Everything was clean and comfortable.
Thank you very much Helen
Wonderful spacious cottage. Lovely and clean. Well appointed. Everything you could need for a wonderful break. The sun room and garden by the canal were amazing to relax and watch the world go by. The owner of this property has gone the extra mile to ensure her guests have the best break xxx
Excellent, very clean. Everything there that you need.. nice little package to welcome you. Milk t bags coffee Welsh cakes etc… It is right on the canal where you can see the boats . We recommend the boat trip. Lovely and relaxing… very friendly ducks…. Everyone so friendly.. . Great for shopping, visit the cathedral and there are 2 museums , one is the military museum, very interesting. Lovely places for food. Basically a lovely holiday to experience …
Very nice clean and tidy house by the canal
Perfect place as a base for Brecon town and the mountains .
Both nights spent by the fire at the Clarence lovely food and a pint or two of Butty .
Great staff and also some beautiful photography to look at there .
Lovely home and as always good people in Brecon .
Despite the draining of the canal we had a lovely stay. Cottage was great and in a perfect location. Helen (the host) was very kind in giving us a small discount due to canal drainage! I would add mirrors above the chests of drawers in the bedrooms and the use of a clothes airer to make it even more perfect.
Amazing little cottage overlooking canal with a log burner for chilly nights. What more could you ask for?
Fully equipped and clean kitchen, bathroom and really beautiful homely house.
We absolutely loved our weekend here!
Thank you
Stayed here for 2 nights with my girls and an assistance dog. Very impressed with the ease of check in via key box. Charming property right on the canal. A little garden was a bonus too. Cupboards are well stocked with the basics so no need for cleaning items or tea ,coffee, milk, oil, salt and pepper etc
The only problem encountered was that the street is very narrow and was full of parked cars for most of our stay. We managed to park in the main road and on our last day when we returned there was a space so we grabbed it!! Made packing up much easier 😊 The property is so convenient to walk into town for dinner in the evening or for a morning stroll along the canal. We would definitely return.
The cottage is in a great location, within walking distance of Brecon town centre and close to the canal tow path that is ideal for a stroll or longer walk. Parking is tricky as the road is very narrow and can only take cars on one side, so gets full in the evening, but there is usually space on the main road at the top which seems safe. The cottage has everything you need for a short stay.
We absolutely loved our stay at Swan Cottage. This lovely place is right on the canal side and the conservatory is the most perfect place to sit to watch the dog walkers and boats go by. It is situated just a short walk from town which has plenty of eateries and shops
We will definitely be booking to return again
The cottage is a lovely size with two double bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs and toilet downstairs. It was spotlessly clean and the games and dvds are a winner with children, especially liking the domino set
Thank you for having us
Stayed for a long weekend in March. The propery was lovely, very comfortable and only minutes from the town centre. After a long day walking it was so nice to relax in front of a real fire. Highlight of the cottage was sitting in the conservatory, which looked dorectly on the canal, watching the swans and ducks go by. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring Brecon and the Brecon Beacons. I recommend the four waterfalls for a stunning walk. Overall great value for money and absolutely no issues - definitely going back !
I would give this cottage 10 out of 10 for everything. It is spotless very comfortable and the kitchen is well equipped.
The tea bags coffee and milk in the fridge were appreciated.
The sun lounge is very relaxing over looking the canal and the cottage is close to everything.
The only faults we had were the stairs are very slippery and could maybe do with some carpet on them?
And the street is so narrow and over crowded it is impossible to park down there but we did find alternative parking on the main street.
We will definately be back again. It was a very relaxing stay.
Swan Cottage was an absolutely lovely base for our week-long exploration of the Brecon Beacons. It was clean, comfortable, and it felt like every need had been anticipated. And the conservatory was just fabulous! We loved having coffee out there each morning watching the ducks swim by. It was a very short walk into town and was very conveniently located to all of the activities we wanted to do. Parking on the street right in front of the house is a bit tricky, but we never had any issue finding parking close by on the main street. Would not hesitate to stay there again if we were visiting the area.
Great cottage - very comfortable and well equipped. Fantastic location right by the canal and close to the busy town but quiet and peaceful. We had sunshine all weekend and were able to enjoy sitting in the garden but also made use of the conservatory in the cooler evenings and can imagine even on a wet day it would be lovely to sit and watch the world go by.
Well located for exploring the Brecons and based on a previous review - we walked the four waterfalls walk and agree it is a stunning walk - popular but perfect on a hot day.
Parking is the only downside but managed to park on the main street and the neighbours that we met were very friendly so have no doubt they wouldn't mind anyone taking time to unload/load outside the property if needed.
Would happily stay here again and Helen was a great host.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness
Lovely venue, tired house
Bad odours all through the house, previous tenant left rotten fish. Lounge carpet smelly, laminate for pets please.
Mattress full of large brown stains, bedding cheap polycotton.
Conservatory window leaking in the rain, desperately needs varnishing.
Lovely views we spent a couple of days here, very expensive for 3nights .
Host responsive to take on board comments.
The cottage was spacious and perfectly positioned in Brecon within easy walking distance of the town centre. In the main the accommodation was comfortable, however we found the cottage quite chilly. We were unable to work out how to turn up the temperature on the central heating and used the electric heater and the blankets provided in the evenings.
When we've stayed at VRBO properties previously there has been coffee, provided, both instant and ground, there was neither here although there were tea bags.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and the issues described above were minor and did not overly affect the enjoyment of our stay.
I was born and raised here in the Brecon beacons and have spent my life exploring every inch of this beautiful place I call home. I am so excited to share my lovely canal front cottage with you and hope you relax and enjoy it as much as I do.
