About this property

Beautifully furnished, with huge comfortable double vi-spring beds, both bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, seperate cloakroom The whole property is free standing and has a fully equipped handmade smallbone natural wood kitchen, equipped with a large Lacanche range cooker, meile dishwasher and large Smeg fridge and nearly all a cook could need. The delightful lounge has a smart TV and a woodburner , large antique pine dining table and a mural of the estate along the entire back wall, french doors lead out to your own large paved terrace partly shaded with vines and wisteria, sun beds , teak table and chairs and a Webber barbecue, the lawns flow down to 12 acres of lakes to stroll around, or a fifteen minute stroll up the lane will take you to a lovely country inn. Many National Trust properties in the area and of course Sissinghurst Gardens and Great Dixter are 10 minutes away, all the delights of Kent and Sussex to explore.

A beautiful relaxing home

Fantastic location, very quiet. The house was beautifully clean and the welcoming home baked sourdough bread and cakes were greatly appreciated and delicious. The owners Jill and Maurice were most welcoming and couldn’t do enough to make us feel weans enhance our stay. The grounds were beautiful and both our dogs enjoyed the walks from the back door. Perfect stay!

Another lovely stay at this beautiful property

This is our third stay at this property and we intend to keep coming back. The property itself is charming. The bed is very comfortable. The setting is idyllic and beautifully quiet. Traumhaus zwischen Wiesen und Teichen

Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll und praktisch eingerichtet. Es fehlt an nichts.Die Aussicht ist traumhaft. Die Gastgeber Jill und Maurice sind ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden mit Kuchen, selbst gebackenem Brot und Tee begrüßt. Das Ferienhaus liegt ruhig und dennoch erreicht man schnell umliegende Orte und Sehenswürdigkeiten. Wir haben eine traumhafte Woche hier verbracht. Unsere beiden Hunde haben sich auch sehr wohlgefühlt.wir kommen bestimmt noch einmal wieder hierher. Petra und Gero

Wer nach Kent will, sollte Water's End Farm buchen

Absolut freundliche Vermieter , total entgegenkommend und immer hilfsbereit. War alles perfekt vorbereitet und hat die Erwartungen übertroffen. Tolles Gelände und Umgebung, schöne Aussicht von der Unterkunft aus auf die Landschaft. Idealer Ausgangspunkt für alle Attraktionen der Gegend,incl. London. Empfehlenswert für alle ,die denken, schon alles zu kennen

Another wonderful stay

We enjoyed a great week at this property. The last stay was during the winter and this summer visit was even better. The location is so picturesque and quiet. Once again, we were greeted with scones, homemade break and cakes - so great after a long journey. Thanks for your hospitality. We will be back.

An excellent property in a beautiful setting

I could not say anything more about this experience. From the initial booking interaction with Jill until the day I left, the whole process was excellent and seamless. The property itself is a very well proportioned 2 bedroom barn conversion. Clearly no expense has been spared with quality bedding and linens, comfortable mattresses, a well-stocked kitchen and lovely living room. The setting is idyllic, with beautiful gardens, fields and ponds surrounding the property. The barn is also beautifully quiet, so I was able to enjoy restful sleeps while there. Finally, the hospitality of the hosts made an excellent stay exceptional. I was greeted by Maurice, who had made a delicious loaf of bread and stocked the fridge with some other breakfast provisions. It was unnecessarily kind but was yet another reflection of the effort to go the extra mile. Thank you for letting me enjoy your beautiful property. I look forward to returning when I'm next in the area.

Fantastic accommodation in idyllic countryside

Our young family (a 6 year-old and a 3 year-old) thoroughly enjoyed our break at Jill's wonderful luxury barn. From the delicious home-baked sourdough bread and cakes awaiting us on arrival, through the beautiful master bedroom to the expansive grounds, this made for a relaxing staycation.

Stunning property and location

What an amazing place! The location is beautiful and we had the best weather. Sitting outside eating breakfast, listening to the birds and looking over to the lakes was just stunning! The cottage is fabulous with all the oak beams and the afternoon tea that was there on our arrival was just what we needed. The Woodcock pub is a great place to eat too. The only drawback was the business that occupies the same site. Sometimes we couldn’t get easy access to the cottage as metal poles were blocking the driveway. The employees would move them, but it was a little inconvenient at times. Despite this, we had an amazing time.

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful stay at the Oak Barn. Jill was very friendly, helpful and hospitable. The barn itself was very comfortable, especially the beds, and had everything we needed. We loved the lake and the canoeing. And the setting was wonderful. We would definitely stay again!

Wonderful Wealderness

We had a wonderful week in the Oak Barn. It is surrounded by woodland full of bluebells and wild garlic. The only noise was from the birds. The cottage is fully equipped, beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable. The best mattress and pillows I’ve ever had away from home. The chilly early May weather gave us the perfect excuse to cosy up by the wood burner. The best thing by far was the friendly and generous hosts, Jill and Maurice who provided us with good advice, wonderful sourdough bread, and, after a stressful day in A&E, two very stiff Gins and Tonics. Thank you both for everything!

Relaxing hideaway

We booked this as a birthday treat to get away from the rat race and weren't disappointed. A lovely barn tucked away in the Kent countryside within beautiful surroundings. A cosy and relaxing stay was had by all.

Beautiful property in a beautiful setting. Lucky too with the weather for visiting local gardens and walking. Highlight...walking round the lakes here at Water End Farm. Jill is a helpful delight and a star baker. Very well equipped house,comfy beds ... I'll stop now but it was ..... Just perfect. Thank you.

Excellent customer service

Very sadly we were unable to take our holiday as planned In March 2020 due to the UK coronavirus lockdown. We received a no question refund and were treated extremely sympathetically by Jill. We really hope to enjoy a stay at Cranbrook sometime in the near future, once things have calmed down a little and returned more to normal. In the meantime we wish Jill and everyone at the property well.

Weekend birthday break

This is one of the best short stay places we have been to. The house was spacious immaculate and well stocked. We used as base to go to Chapel Down vineyard, Leeds castle and Rye all really accessible but would have been equally happy staring at the views and walking around the 43 acres. Will hopefully return again later in the year.

A spectacular cottage in the Kent countryside

We just had a fantastic holiday at the Oak Barn. We arrived to a tea service of cake and the most delicious loaf of homemade sourdough bread I have ever had. We cooked in the well-equipped kitchen and took walks around the grounds and to the local pub (the Woodcock). This is an absolutely perfect house, with lovely little details that made it so warm and comfortable. Highly recommended and we hope to be back!

Relaxing weekend away in Kent

10/10 - great hosting by Jill. The welcome afternoon tea was such a treat to find on our arrival. The place is amazing, beautiful surroundings, incredible property. If you are looking for peace and quiet and to get away from it all this is the place for you! The bedrooms are both wonderful with huge beds and well equipped bathrooms, plenty of room for two couples, and the wood burner and well equipped kitchen made the whole weekend one to remember.
