Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in
Short break in Porto
Apartment was clean, kitchen well equipped and beds very comfortable.
We had an issue getting the check-in details for the apartment on the Monday when we arrived - a couple of hours of panic when I couldn't get hold of the host. Turns out Monday 10th June was the Portuguese national holiday so assumed that was why.
The flat description advises that there is air conditioning but the living room only has the air-con, the bedrooms do not so it may be a bit hot during the Summer months.
The apartment location is in a residential area so not many shops etc nearby. The nearest supermarket (pingo doce) was approx 5 - 10 mins walk.
However the metro (Faria Guimaraes) station is a 50m walk from the apartment and connects to many other areas of the city very easily. A day ticket on the metro costs 5.75 euros so very good value and the metro system is easy to navigate.
Recommendations for activities - metro ride over to Gaia, gondola ride, boat ride on the Douro river, ride on the old trams.
We had several very good meals at restaurants in the Sao Bento area. Food and drinks were a very good price and servers in restaurants were very friendly. I also recommend the Porto Cruz rooftop bar for food and cocktails.
