We walked into a house so immaculately clean that if I could give it ten stars for that, I would. The place was sparkling. All the beds were very comfortable-- and we used every single one of them! It is nice, also, that the four bedrooms on the second floor are practically identical so that no one gets a "master" bedroom bigger than everyone else's.
The yard is beautiful, and beautifully landscaped. There is plenty of parking-- even when, at peak family time, we had six cars to deal with. The grill and outdoor table are great-- we grilled only once (halibut) but ate outside almost every night. And we made the most of the wraparound porch, as well!
The first floor seemed smallish at first, as if we might be crashing into each other, but as it turned out, there was more than enough space for everyone to stretch out, work at the dining room table, read, cook, etc. And the kitchen!! We may be unusual in this respect, but we rarely eat out on vacations like this-- we have plenty of talented cooks in the extended family, and we LOVED LOVED LOVED everything provided for cooking, especially the chef-quality sharp knives ... something we almost never can get in a rental house, so that some of us have taken to bringing our own knives just in case. Not necessary here! The kitchen has something like two dozen razor-sharp knives that made food prep easy and quick.
The location was a bit far from the beach for the youngest among us, but we did plenty of dropoffs by car, and on every day but Fri and Sat the West parking lot was open. The only thing that gave everyone pause was the dauntingly narrow entrance to the driveway-- it is a challenge! None of us own an SUV, but still, there isn't a lot of wiggle room. But this does not count as a complaint-- we loved the place and everyone had a marvelous time.
