Ben was wonderful, accommodated all our requests. The lodging was perfect for our family of five, space for privacy and open area for gathering. Views of Grand Marais and Superior. Perfect location and space for our family celebration. Thank you!
The property was clean and had everything we needed! Perfectly close to everything in Grand Marais - we walked to the water, to dinner, and to the shops!
Came up for 4 nights with my family to hike and enjoy the town. Place was great for us and loft was really helpful for having an extra bed. No AC needed with how close to the lake it was, but one window was missing a screen, so lots of mosquitoes got in before we noticed. We use this place again.
We had a bit of trouble finding the location but only because we didn’t have phone service when we got to Grand Marais. The host gave well written directions with the check in information but apparently I am challenged with following directions. We figured it out and Ben was quick to respond to our distress - we just had spotty cell connection and didn’t see his texts.
The apartment was clean and comfortable, the description and photos were accurate, the beds were comfortable and the place had a very peaceful feeling to it. We all slept so peacefully! I would recommend this stay to anyone wanting to be close to town. 10/10 stay for us!
Overall, we had a good stay. We were within walking distance to all shops and restaurants which was fantastic. The home was very clean and had a great view of the lake. The checkout time changed somehow and was 10 instead of 11 as it says in the listing, so we had to rush a little bit more than we would have preferred in the morning. Someone also tried to come in at 9:45 while we were still packing up, so we felt even more rushed and a little less safe, to be honest. It would also be nice if there would have been extra toiletries provided as the hand soap in the bathroom had only about a millimeter of soap left in it when we arrived and there were no extras or refills. We wound up having to get our own. We also weren’t aware we’d have to bring home our own garbage, so that would have been nice to know beforehand. None of these things ruined our weekend, though, and the home really was very nice and comfortable otherwise.
We had a great week staying here in Grand Marais. Great location, a block back from the main road, and roughly behind the taco place. House looks as the pictures show. The whole apartment is on the second floor. The internal stairs lead up to a small loft with a twin bed in it. My daughter's liked reading books up there. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Grand Marais if it's available.
Great place, exceptionally clean. Would stay again in a heart beat.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, location
Disliked: Communication, listing accuracy
Terrible communication, poor plumbing
Poor communication with property manager regarding additional fees after our stay. The property manager and myself agreed on an amount of $$ for cosmetic damages done to the toilet. He did not stand by that agreement, and charged more than our agreed amount. He cut off all contact after he did so.
We experienced poor plumbing with the toilet. We had to walk to the public restroom throughout our stay. Be prepared to bring your own dish-ware if you have a group larger than 4.
The location is great, but it is not worth the risk of being taken advantage of by the manager and walking to the public restroom down the street to use their toilet.
Clean, comfortable, updated upper floor apartment adequate for preparing meals after a day of sightseeing. Beautiful view of the sunrise over the lake too!
A great spot to come back to after a full day of hiking on the North Shore. Super clean and for the three of us, plenty of space. Very quiet at night and easy walking to downtown and Artist's Point. Ben was extremely friendly to work with and very quick to respond to questions.
Perfect for our 2 night getaway. The beds were comfortable and the property had most everything we needed including a bear in the tree in the backyard for our entertainment. Convenient to downtown area but very quiet place. Only suggestion would be some hot pads for the oven, a dishrag for the sink and more than 2 washcloths for 4 of us. Also for the price we paid I feel like we shouldn't have had to take our garbage home with us.
Great place to relax after a long day of hiking. We cooked our own dinners as we brought a small grill to use in the yard. Easy walk to all the shops and Artist Point. Quiet and lots of windows- view of Lake Superior.

We enjoyed our stay- convenient walking distance to businesses and attractions. Good level of amenities and space. The bad is that the master bed was very much sagging and it felt like sleeping on a hammock, and the loft was really for young kids only. Parking was easy and convenient. We would stay again here but might bring a blow up mattress instead of sleeping in master bed
We wanted a place within walking distance of Grand Marais as well as a base to see the larger region. This place fit the bill nicely! We had to call the property manager to address a small issue and he responded immediately — which I think is an important point to note. Overall it was a good experience!
This home is a great base camp for any activities in the area. We had plenty of space to rest and stretch out after miles of hiking each day. It is surprisingly lovely on the inside compared to the outside, and very comfy, quiet (except for seagulls!), clean and new.
