Beautiful Vacation Home
From beginning to end the communication with Sarah and the staff at the property was flawless. This home is very secured and comfy. Andrew was always available if needed and the guide provided at the home was very detailed. My friends and I enjoyed this home and will definitely consider staying here again.

Misleading images and reviews on this property!
My family and I booked this property for 5 days this week. We checked in on Monday and vacated the property at 7am on Tuesday morning because it was disgustingly filthy. Sheets were stained. Pillows were old and smelly. The whole house smelt of damp and must. Blue loo was used in every toilet. I spent the morning we left picking up cockroaches before my children woke up. We took pictures and videos and mailed the owners . They didn’t reply for a few days and ignored our request for a refund. There are broken fixtures in bathrooms and outside. The photos on this website do not represent the current state of this home. The kitchen appliances are old and dirty and the cutlery is stained. It’s incredulous that the owners are renting this out as luxury accommodation when it’s completely the opposite. Its nothing short of a scam! Areas around the pool are broken and cracked. Pathways are stained. Tiled areas covered with broken tiles. There’s a chicken coop on the grounds with old furnitures thrown around it. There’s an old filthy BBQ is in the middle of the garden. The lists go on and on. The owner should be ashamed of themselves renting out a property in this condition. My daughter started crying when she pulled back the cover on her bed and saw stained sheets and pillows. At the very least their linen should have been clean. There is a 4th bedroom attached to the property with people living in it so don’t think you’re getting exclusive accommodation. I’m still shocked at how the owners treated us. They took our money but under EU consumer law we are entitled to get it back. Don’t make the mistake we made by booking this filthy run down home ! If you would like to see what it really looks like you can message me here. We would be happy to share our images and videos with you so you don’t have your holiday ruined like us. We see the owners have another property called TreeTops. You should request recent images before making any booking. Don’t be fooled and mistreated like us, it’s not a very nice feeling. Fantastic!
My husband and I rented the poolhouse and our daughters and family , all 8 of them, rented Mullins Bay House. We took the van taxi with Big Sean that Sarah recommended and were greeted by Andrew, the supervisor and Oneida, the house keeper! They were wonderful to us during our stay. We ordered a meal to be cooked upon our arrival, which was done by Andrew! So thankful! He also had some prearranged groceries picked up for us. So thankful as we had four children with us! We loved the pool which was cleaned regularly and loved seeing the mommies visit every day! I had lots of questions for Sarah before we left for our vacations and she was always available! This property is gorgeous, just a beautiful place for a family😽

A very spacious house set in beautiful gardens
This was our second stay at this property. We enjoyed this spacious comfortable house -having breakfast on the veranda watching the green monkeys who often pass through the beautiful garden. We made use of the lovely pool-a really relaxing place to be. The location is great for us and the local Gibb’s beach was fabulous for snorkelling and sunset walks. We rented a car and so were able to explore a lot of the Island.Highlights for us this year were Stand Up Paddle Board lesson at sunset, diving with High Tides, snorkelling with lots of turtles and a visit to Hunte’s garden and the Atlantis Hotel for lunch on the east coast. The property is very well managed from the booking stage onwards and we were looked after well by the local managers. We look forward to another visit before too long.

Lovely gardens in a great location!
Property is in a great location only 5 mins to Mullins Bay! Spacious clean rooms with air con which was great. The pool and gardens are a lovely feature and the bbq was a welcome addition. Andrew and Oneta were extremely helpful and on hand when needed. Without wanting to sound negative in any way at all as we had a lovely holiday, we would definitely give 5 stars if the property was updated a little and we did all feel that a welcome pack ie a few teabags/coffee/milk/oil/s&p/water would be really nice (we had these at another property the previous year that wasn’t as nice as Mullins Bay House and it was a really nice touch) . It was good value for money and the location was perfect!

Perfect holiday experience
Mullins Bay House is a great property with beautiful gardens in a fantastic location with a short walk to Mullins Beach. We couldn't fault the property it had everything we needed and it was so helpful to have all our baby equipment and car seats provided. Sarah and Simon were a pleasure to deal with and provided very detailed local information before we even set off. Andrew and Oneta looked after us during our stay and couldn't have been more helpful. We would really love to stay here again - we all had a wonderful holiday

A perfect pocket of paradise, set in lush gardens
Mullins Bay House has a unique and magical charm of its own - with a relaxed, homely feel - you can't help but unwind as soon as you arrive. The house is airy and spacious with everything you need for a stress-free break and its layout inside works wonderfully to give flexibility depending on how many people you are traveling with . The staff are incredibly respectful and helpful and keep the house and grounds spotless. The house is set in beautiful gardens with a wonderful pool, with a great set of loungers and chairs close-by. There's plenty of natural shade under the palm and mango trees or on one of the many verandas which are also fitted with fans. The beach is just a 5 minute stroll away and close enough for a pre-breakfast swim. Local transport is a 5 minute walk too and local buses are regular and great fun to travel on with a fixed fare making life very easy! The local people are also so warm and welcoming and very helpful if you're not sure where to hop off! The location is also fantastic - not just for the beach and buses also as it's located between 2 great towns - Holetown and Speightstown which have banks, supermarkets and plenty of vibrant places to eat and drink. We loved the beach bars - especially JuJus on the way to Holetown and also the Bristol Bar in Speightstown for live music and sundowners. Smokey' s fish stall is just a few minutes drive away too and provides an easy and delicious supper for the BBQ. Sarah and Simon know the area and local people so well and are loved and respected by them. They are full of ideas on what to do and see and couldn't be more helpful and caring in making sure your stay is nothing short of perfect. In summary MB House is a little corner of paradise, set in lush gardens, with bird and monkey life all around, a beach at the end of the road and warm turquoise waters to swim in. All this plus the heartwarming and wonderful, authentic Barbadian vibe means it's a very hard place to leave! You're guaranteed to return home happy and relaxed and wanting to be back!

Home from Home
This was our second time staying at Mullins Bay House. It worked so well for us the first time round we had no hesitation in booking again. There were 12 in our group, age range from 6 to 80 years old. The house offers flexible accommodation, generous beautifully kept gardens and a large swimming pool, perfect for a family holiday. The house is clean, comfortable and we were very well looked after by Andrew and Juanita. It's a great base to explore the Island from, everything is within easy reach, the beautiful West coast beaches, the wild rugged East coast and all the tourist attractions. Mullins Bay beach is a short stroll away where you can enjoy the lovely clear waters of the Caribbean Sea, a white sandy beach and sundowners at the beach bar. Highly recommended is a trip on a catamaran with Calypso Cruises, it's run by father and son, Nick & Val Knowles. The 5 hour lunch cruise offers an opportunity to swim with turtles, snorkel and explore shipwrecks, with the added bonus of delicious food and unlimited drink. We did the 3 hour sunset cruise this time which was also fantastic. There are many and varied eateries on the Island but if you want to 'eat in' the local fish markets are fantastic offering lovely fresh fish (from flying fish to lobster) and the roadside vegetable stalls have an array of local produce, perfect for a BBQ. So if you want a holiday lazing on the beach or by the pool with a rum punch in hand or a more active holiday exploring the Island look no further! Thank you Simon and Sarah for opening your house up for us to enjoy......again!

Beautiful house, great location
We stayed at Mullins Bay House for a week, and had a great time. The house is spacious, nicely decorated and in a perfect location close to Mullins Bay. The house set in lovely gardens, and the pool is a great place to relax away from the beach. Our hosts were really helpful with recommendations for eating, drinking and activities on the island, and were on hand with any ad-hoc requests we had whilst we were there.

The perfect holiday
We had such a good week! The house is as described; everything you needed there; clean and well maintained. The manager and housekeeper were so friendly and welcoming. We had one traditional meal cooked for us on our first night which was delicious. Also enjoyed BBQing fresh fish by the pool. Also ate at Ju-Ju's - I recommend the barracuda! And a rum punch both there and at Mullins Beach at sunset. The beach is just a few minutes walk away - perfect for an early morning swim. Other highlight - watching the monkeys collect mangos in the garden from the veranda; Everything so comfortable - house lovely and cool, veranda shady - the perfect spot!

Dream location
I stayed at Mullin’s House with some girlfriends at the end of March. It was my first trip to Barbados and I wasn’t disappointed on any level. The house was spacious, light and airy – surprising cool, given the outdoor temperatures. The bed was comfortable and gardens were just stunning. The house comes with TV, DVD, WiFi etc, and two spacious sitting areas, but we used none of them. The shady terrace overlooking the garden was the place to have breakfast, read, drink rum punch and watch the monkeys pass by on their daily circuit. It’s tempting to stay put because it’s so beautiful, but only 5–7 minutes walk away is Mullin’s Beach with picture postcard turquoise sea. There are regular buses up and down the coast that make getting to other towns and beaches stress-free. I’d recommend this house for anyone. It would be perfect for children, but equally suitable for a romantic getaway. I have already booked my flights to return this summer.

Fabulous Barbados Villa
This wonderful property within a few minutes walk of beautiful Mullins Beach was perfect for our stay. We received a warm welcome at the airport from our taxi driver and this set the scene as we found everyone we met on Barbados friendly and eager to please from Simon and Sarah's staff to the local bus drivers. The property is set in beautiful lush gardens and is lovingly maintained, spotlessly clean and equipped for all holiday needs with the deck area providing a perfect large, cool ,shaded spot for dining and relaxing. We visited the beautiful local Mullins and Gibbs Beaches which are near enough for a quick morning swim or perfect for a whole day relaxing or water sports. It was possible to rent beach beds within steps of the Mullins Beach Bar or find a quiet idyllic spot just around the corner on Gibbs Beach. We spent our time dining on very fine fish at local restaurants or beach bars and swimming in the crystal clear sea interspersed with boat trips and turtle spotting. Activities are very easy to organise with Simon and Sarah's extensive local knowledge and recommendations and the helpfulness of the local people. We had a delightful holiday and will highly recommend this property to my friends and plan to take my family again soon.

Perfect retreat
We had a wonderful stay at Mullin's Bay House. The accommodation was spacious, spotlessly clean, very comfortable (very efficient air-con). It was so nice relaxing in the garden and pool that we didn't always make it to the beach - even though it's only a 5 min walk away! The local garage shop has all essentials and there are a few bars/restaurants in walking distance. We had a lovely meal cooked by Andrew's wife one evening - be aware that her portions are very generous - enough for 2 nights! We hired the family car for a few days and visited the Flower Forest and a few restaurants further afield. Andrew (property manager) and Anthea (housekeeper) were wonderful - friendly without being intrusive. We loved seeing the monkeys some mornings and most afternoons. Be aware that the pool and garden are shared - but there is plenty of space in the garden so you can still enjoy your solitude. We had no problem with mosquitos - and some people staying further south on the same coast had been bitten a lot. We'd highly recommend Mullin's Bay House if you want a quiet holiday - if you want a lively one choose one of the main resort areas.

Loved!
This estate was EVERYTHING you could want in Barbados! I stayed for a week with my family and friends, there were 15 of us and we all fit perfectly! We had mainly couples, so the rooms worked perfect. We had one couple with a small child and the pool house worked perfect for them to get some quiet at night away from the main house. Simon & Sara were so nice and answered all my questions. Anthea was so sweet and extremely helpful. Laundry was done every other day all you had to do was leave it by the front door and it would be done when you got home from the beach! The pool was great and enough space and chairs that all of us could enjoy the pool together! Another treat were the MONKEYS, we saw them almost every morning. The estate has 3 separate kitchens and there is a grocery store in Speightstown about a 7-10 minute drive. Definitely have bug spray or candles with you to keep away the mosquitoes because you will definitely be spending a lot of time on the two large beautiful decks. We have been talking about returning ever since we left, can't wait to come back!

Total relaxation
From the photographs and reports we read we had high expectations - we were not disappointed - the info was accurate. The taxi (arranged through the villa owners) was waiting for us when we arrived and the driver supplied us with local info on the way to Mullins Bay. We had a cross-section in our family, my husband and I, our single 33 yr-old son and daughter and son-in-law with their 11-month old - not quite standing on his own. The main house layout suited us all, it was clean and very well maintained - plenty of space and very well equipped - the bedrooms were spacious and towels changed every day - the gardens lush and well kept and the pool a very good size and cleaned regularly. We used the BBQ the first couple of nights (the guys forgot to put repellent on ankles - big mistake) and gas was supplied. We arranged through Andrew, who arrived every day, for Sally to prepare us a meal of favourite local foods which was delicious and lasted us several days! We hired one of the villa cars and between us managed to see quite a bit of the island. We would like to keep this little gem of a place to ourselves but the owners have been so helpful from the very start of organising this holiday that they deserve to be praised - first class customer service. I can quite honestly say that they couldn't have supplied us with any further information about the villa and the area than they did - excellent and we would thoroughly recommend this property and the Mullins area. Quiet beach and several restaurants within walking distance. We shall be returning.

Lovely family house, beautiful gardens
We have recently arrived home from a fabulous 3 week holiday, taken over the Christmas and New Year period. As quoted by my 11 year old son 'Mullins Bay House is everything you would want from a holiday villa'. There were 10 in our party age range from 21 months to 75 years and we felt completely at home from the outset. The house is spacious, clean with beautifully kept gardens and lovely friendly staff who made our stay extra special, thank you Andrew and Anthea! The house is situated in a quiet residential area and a short walk from the beach. Tourists attractions such as Harrison's caves and St Nicholas Abbey are a short drive away, therefore making it a good base to explore the island from. Calypso cruises come highly recommended, we did the 5 hour tour which included snorkeling with turtles and exploring ship wrecks. Fab food, drinks and rum punch aplenty. Nick and Val were brilliant helping the children and older members of the group to snorkel, a truly memorable experience. We spent lazy days on the beach with sundowners at Mullins Bar. We ate some great food at Jumas in Speightstown, Bombas in Mullins, Lobsters Alive in Bridgetown and various road side eateries that we chanced upon. We had delicious food cooked by Andrew's girlfriend Sally & Anthea the housekeeper, to name but a few of our culinary experiences. Finally thank you to Simon and Sarah for first class customer service and opening up their house for others to enjoy....we'll be back! The Jones family, Kent

Perfect family getaway, quiet and relaxing.
This was our third stay at MBH. Not only are the grounds utterly fantastic, the house full of charm, but the staff are simply wonderful. I guarantee by the end of your stay, you will be charmed by both Anthea and Andrew, who do a great job of taking care of the house and yard and answering any tourist type questions you might have! By the end of the trip, our 5 year old wanted to hang out with them instead of the family! The facilities are kept clean, the yard is kept tidy and you have pretty much everything one needs while on vacation abroad. The neighbourhood is extremely quiet and laid back, which we love. We will be returning next fall with yet another group of people who are enchanted by our stories of the house, the beauty of the island, the beach (which is just a hop, skip and a jump away - even for the little ones!) and just about everything that is Barbados. Thanks again to Simon and Sarah for offering up their home to the rest of us. We will continue to spread the good word about MBH. Thomas in Canada

Lovely house, great staff.
The information given on the website was accurate and backed up by excellent factsheets and hand drawn maps which were very useful in pointing us towards nice places to eat at sensible prices and interesting places to visit. Simon & Sarah were very efficient and friendly to deal with and the staff at Mullins Bay House were just lovely. We would certainly recommend this to others and hope to return ourselves next year with a larger family group. Best activities for us were: swimming with the turtles and snorkelling over coral reefs, barbequeing freshly caught tuna and dolphin at the house and wandering along beaches at sunset. Best eating out was at Casareep Cafe in Speightstown, Ju Ju's beach bar and Dazzlers restaurant/bar a mile or so south and Tides in Holetown which was heavenly.

The First Brazilian Family at Mullins Bay House
I stay with my parents and sister at Mullins Bay House in September. We really loved it. The house is more beautiful than the photos in the site. It includes also the pool and the garden. The taxi driver was waiting for us at the airport with the key, as agreeded with Simon. Anthea is very, very nice. She gave us a lot of attention, and was very patience, trying to understand my parentes (in Portuguese!). Even the car rentals that Sarah indicated me was great. Barbados was really a very good experience to us, and Sarah and Simon house had contribuited so much to it. We are very honnored to know that we are the first brazilian family to stay at the house. And, for sure, next year, we will come back. This time, with more people. My brother is jeaulous because he could not came with us, because my sister in law is pregnant. Talking about it, the house is lovely for children. There is one very charm bedroom to them. Sarah and Simon, thank you again for sharing your home with us.

Our stay at Mullins Bay House was perfect!
I cannot recommend Mullins Bay House highly enough. The owners are wonderful and the house is great. Mullins beach is lovely. It made a real difference staying in what felt like a home away from home. We ate a lot at Zacchios for lunch, which was very child friendly-the staff were great and they have a designated kids menu. I would recommend the “Sea Eye”. It’s a glass-bottomed boat with a difference! My 4 year old loved it and got a chance to swim with the turtles as well. Finally, I must speak very very highly of the Sitar restaurant in Holetown, where I had the best Indian food ever. This is not your post- midnight-after-the-pubs-shut fodder we get served over here (in the UK). Beautiful food, lovely décor (nary a mottled carpet in sight!) and the owners are wonderful. It is not inexpensive, but the wine list is intelligent and it is good value for money (especially as they do take- aways and will wrap up whatever you don’t eat for you to take it home with you! I was reticent but was assured that was the custom!) I I cannot recommend Mullins Bay House highly enough. The owners are wonderful and the house is great.

Great house - wonderful gardens
We thought Mullins Bay House was first rate and the gardens were wonderful - so many different trees, plants and flowers - all very popular with the humming birds and green monkeys which were regular visitors. We found the peace and the general atmosphere very relaxing. The house is very well equipped and comfortable with everything we needed. Our favourite memories are: enjoying the sunsets on Mullins Beach with a rum punch in hand, the excellent food at the Fish Pot restaurant and the warmth of the welcome from the staff who made us feel completely at home.

We live in Cambridge in the UK and have 2 adult children who are currently at university.

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting Barbados since 1997 and fell in love with the island and her people. We bought Mullins Bay House in 2003 and it really is our second home which we love and cherish. The area is beautiful and very peaceful and only a short walk to two of the islands best beaches Mullins and Gibbs. Also historic Speightstown is a short 5 min bus/car ride away and whilst still very original offers a good selection of bars and restaurants and shops.

What makes this property unique

The house is only a short stroll from the beautiful Mullins beach but is also away from the hub-bub of the busy coast road so is very peaceful and quiet. It has an acre of beautiful garden where you can listen to the tree frogs in the evening and watch the monkeys strolling through on their way to the gully below.
