About this property

Y Bwthyn Llanberis - Two Bedroom Cottage, Sleeps 4

Y Bwthyn Llanberis - simply translated as Llanberis Cottage - is a lovely couples getaway at in the heart of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia). A cosy and traditional one bedroom cottage with warming log-burner and amazing, panoramic mountain views, the property is found at the foot of the ‘Snowdon Path’ which is just 500m from the world famous Snowdon Mountain Railway, that brings you to the summit of Yr Wyddfa, and even closer to Ceunant Mawr Waterfall, also known as Llanberis Falls. Set back in a quiet part of the village, it offers the perfect escape for two people. The cottage is cosy, and set up to welcome four people. Upon entering through the front stable door, you a presented with the downstairs living space/lounge area, with log burner, which also has a small dining area for those quiet evenings spent relaxing by the fire. In the next room, there is a fully equipped kitchen with all you need to help prepare evening meals, or energy-boosting breakfasts before your first ascent to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Up the ladder style stairs to the first floor, through a very quirky low doorway, there is a traditional crog-loft bedroom, with sloped-ceilings and restricted headroom, the gabled-end rafters allow for a king-size bed, as well as bedside tabled and clothes storage in the eaves. The bathroom has a bathtub with overhead shower, WC and washbasin. There is a small enclosed garden to the front, off road parking for one car and plenty of secure storage space for mountain bikes/ kayaks. Facilities include a TV, Wi-fi broadband, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, garden furniture. Bedlinen and towels are provided. All this charm and character lend Y Bwthyn Llanberis a memorable, cosy feel that is perfect for a fantastic North Wales experience, no matter what time of year you decide to to explore this magical part of the region. Llanberis is packed with enough attractions to keep visitors busy for weeks. But first, there’s the lakeside location at the foot of Snowdon. When you’re tired of walking beside the water – which you won’t be – take a ride on two narrow-gauge lines, the Llanberis Lake Railway and Snowdon Mountain Railway. The latter climbs almost to the doorstep of the stunning Hafod Eryri Visitor Centre.

Great location for Snowdon
This was a cute property and had everything you needed. The location was amazing, you could not be closer to climb Snowdon. My only problem was the ceiling heights upstairs, my daughter is really tall so was downstairs and I had to take the room in the eaves.. I did bump my head a few times in the night. I Would recommend it.

Cute cottage close to trails
Cute, cosy, well stocked cottage close to trails. Was perfect for us but if you have mobility issues this cottage is not for you. The stairs to upstairs bedroom are narrow and steep although one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor.
