The encompassing gardens reach down to the river banks. Y Dorlan really is the perfect base from which to explore the local charms of the bustling, historic market town of Cardigan, on the edge of the dramatic Ceredigion coastline.
This beautiful lodge is full of character and features a large, spiral, open-tread staircase in the grand hallway with some rooms focusing on the views of the meandering river. You may prefer to get a closer view of the Teifi from the sun terrace, relaxing with a glass of wine in your private hot tub, or star gazing into the clear night sky. Al fresco dining is sublime, with a large built in barbecue to cook your catch of the day. Imagine waking up and heading for the sauna followed by swim in your indoor swimming pool - truly magnificent! The garden also boasts a giant draughts set and there is even a helicopter landing pad, for those who want to arrive in style!
This lodge is perfect for families and larger groups who want to explore the three counties of Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire and Carmarthenshire. Just a stone’s throw across the River Teifi is the Welsh Wildlife Centre which is one of the best wetland reserves in Wales, where a huge diversity of wildlife is waiting to be discovered. You may prefer to explore the Cardigan Bay Marine Wildlife Centre where you can learn how to spot dolphins, porpoise and Atlantic grey seals.
Cardigan Castle has undergone a major renovation project, and with over 900 years of history is well worth a visit. For those keen to explore the area on foot, the coastal footpath is truly wonderful, or inland, explore the Preseli Hills.

Superb Property For Large Family Holiday
Although 12 of us stayed here, the property is so large and well thought out there was always space for everyone whether they wanted company or to be alone. All of us could sit around the table inside or either table outside. The swimming pool, hot tub and sauna with its own changing area and toilet and shower facilities felt like luxury and were a lot of fun. We also loved the games room and had fun with the jukebox. The outlook on the nature reserve and birds was relaxing.
